More trade news: The #Chiefs are deep in talks with the #49ers on a trade for star pass-rusher Dee Ford, sources say. Things have escalated and this could get done by the end of the night. Ford needs to work out a new contract with SF, which is a big piece of this.

I appreciate your input; out of curiosity who were the top 5 based on that model? [Reply]

He's a ****ing moron. Tredadda nailed it a few posts earlier. He's undisciplined. Add that to all of his other shortcomings, and we arrive at the same conclusion: he's just not worth a longterm deal, and if you can ship him out before committing $15 million for one year of a tag contract, you do that ASAP.
The blind rat bastard even lined up offsides in the pro bowl. Fuck him [Reply]

Meanwhile in Spag's system the safety is often tasked with coverage responsibilities that are clearly the Honey Badger's weakness.
Hey, genius...
How is that going to help the Chiefs improve their leaky sieve run defense, which was made leakier by his weakness in run defense?
Taking a guy who can’t hold the edge as an OLB and making him a DE isn’t going to improve that.
Mathieu has had injury problems, sure. But the commitment is smaller and shorter.
A guy with his success as a slot corner in the recent past has some coverage skills. He may not be a deep safety specialist, but he’s versatile and can be used in less predictable ways. [Reply]

Does 2nd and 3rd best on shit you have taken in a year really mean anything?

The fact that he had more than a step before he engaged the LT. With his hand in the dirt he will have to get up and then get around the LT. As an OLB he was already standing. If it were the same thing then any good passrushing OLB could transition to DE with no drop off. [Reply]
