Nzoner's Game Room>Anyone here doing the E-Cig / Vape thing?
pr_capone 03:05 AM 11-17-2013
Thanks to my vape, I've had only one single cigarette in the past 3 weeks. I have zero cravings for them and I feel considerably better. In fact, I still have about 5 smokes left in a pack and just can't see myself smoking those... don't want to.

Even better... 5ml of juice, which costs $5, lasts me about 2 weeks meaning that I am spending less in the long run. I only smoked, at most, a pack a week... but still.

I tried the Blu E-Cigs but they were terrible. Trying to "smoke" out of one of those was like trying to take a hit off a joint that was rolled WAY to tight.

I'm using an eGo-V v2 mega battery with variable voltage control with a gravity tank.

Yeah, I want to try that one, but it's more expensive because it's a new flavor on a one-time run sorta deal pending customer feedback, but on the e-cig forum, everyone says it's amazing.

Not to derail the discussion, but (and it may have been mentioned earlier in this thread) have any of you checked out CASAA, the Consumer Advocates for Smoke Free Alternatives?

http://casaa.org/

I'm getting some crap here at work for using the e-cig. I'm in the process of trying to educate my boss, who is sympathetic but, like most non-users, can't get past the way it looks and the mis-information going on. The website above has a peer reviewed study that shows the risk of vaping to be minimal at best. Basically, what we all as vapers and former smokers already know.

It's frustrating, and the way things are going in the news, they are really trying to take away ecigs. This group is a great advocacy group, and I strongly urge you guys to check out the site and the studies and the all the advocacy they offer. It might be our only hope...

Thanks, I will. I already have to vape only in areas approved for smoking at work. Our smoking break rooms were eliminated over a year ago. There is now a "smoke shack" outside of the building located in our parking lot. When the change was made, vaping was treated as smoking. I just go sit in my car and play with my phone while I do it. People and organizations that have spent time and money demonizing smokers are fighting e-cigs tooth and nail. They don't want an alternative to smoking. They want to force you to quit.

Just an update on the Innokin VTR: It has taken over as my main device.

Nice. Glad you like it.

AB 1500 was shit down in California today. Would have made e-liquid taxed to hell and made it signature required for any shipped to your house.

Good. Big tobacco, nanny state advocates and money grabbing politicians are going to keep fighting as hard as they can.

Sorry, but the smell from a lot of e-cigs is obnoxious as hell. I know to you all it tastes like cotton candy or something, but it smells like a shitty air freshener half the time I've been around people who are using e-cigs. Admittedly, people fart, wear patchouli, and create nasty smells in the workplace in all manner of ways, but vaping is certainly noticeable by those around.

Maybe I'm around trashy Arkansans vaping crap though.

I'm using a mix of banana cream pie and butterscotch at the moment. It smells like banana pudding and butterscotch pudding mixed together.

You really should check out CASSA. They have a good thing going and are very organized from what I can gather. They send me catered emails lining out where and what to do to let my congressman know.

I vape exclusively with Ultamint. Mint on steroids. Has no odor. My wife uses Black Raspberry Champagne...which does have a smell, but I like it.

I dunno, I'd think you'd have to be ultra sensitive or surrounded by a LOT of vaping for it to be a problem. you are literally the first person I've come across that has such a reaction to it.

I'm using the NJoy brand most of the time lately, but when I'm having cocktails its still the real stinkers that get used.

Baby steps...

During a high school graduation, some redneck was sitting in the crowd using an e-cig. It smelled like cheap air freshener and everyone around the dude kept staring at him, but he just kept pulling away on it.

I just think there are places it's appropriate and others that it's not, but hell, I don't really want to pass laws about it. I'd prefer that humans display some common sense and courtesy, but that might be asking too much.

Vape at funerals, church, school, weddings. Wherever. Vape it up heh.

No, I hear ya. It's funny...24 years ago I was smoking in the doctors office waiting for the ultrasound on my daughter. And didn't think twice about it. Now, it's been so demonized that vaping is paying for it. A lot has changed in the last 30 years or so regarding people's opinion of smoking. Not the second hand part, I mean just the way it LOOKS. Vaping rubs people the wrong way because of how it looks more than anything else.

I don't whip out the ecig in restaurants, I always ask at bars if it's OK to use, and when I vape here at work, I am fortunate enough to have an office that I can close the door to. But I don't do these things because I'm concerned about my ecig hurting others (cuz it absolutely can't). I do these things because people would FREAK if I just vaped anywhere.

Crazy old world.
