Nzoner's Game Room>Restaurants of yesteryear
Simply Red 08:33 PM 11-01-2006
What Restaurants did you grow up around? I'm not talking super fancy and yes fast-food counts. What distinctive memories do you associate with them?

Mine?

Taco Via-(the lit up menu of the various taco plates displayed on the wall), WhiteCastle-On a paper plate with fries and Pepsi, Arthur Treachers(off Noland), Tippins(off Noland), Perkins(the free toy well), Country Deli(awesome local deli to Blue Springs heated sandwiches on Sourdough buns), Zarda BBQ and Dairy, FunHouse Pizza(of Course)(Dark. Video- Games,Electonic Riding Bull and 25-cent Taco night) Annes Sante Fe.

Keep in mind I never see these anymore living in Georgia.

I'm sure the fries are good though, based on the endorsement by/from CitySearch.

KC actually had a decent hamburger joint in WestPort, back in 97 when I tried dating this KC girl she took me there. Me thinks it was called Ottos.

OK. That was pretty good. The burger was outstanding and well worth the $7. The fries were above average as was the shake. I give it a 7 out of 10.

That's ok.

I might be the only tool to drive 2 hours to get Jack In The Box, be talking about Jack In The Box, and then miss the exit...:-)

I will post a thread with the specifics as it gets closer-but it is a totally new concept.

Okay, let me know if I can help you at all,

I don't know if you know, but I went to Johnson Cty. Comm. College and studied Culinary-Arts.

Strouds

I have been going there since I was six or so. They use to always have an old man play piano during dinner. Great place to go. To bad it is located now in Kansas.

Yeah, that's been covered on here plenty, kind of ridiculous to read the entire thread though. But yeah, nothing beats the gourmet styled chicken.

Just had some Hi-Boy before the Chiefs open practice on Saturday.

Beats the hell out of a McDonald's or Wendy's hamburger.
