NFL odds: After Sunday night, Patrick Mahomes is now the overwhelming NFL MVP favorite

Frank Schwab 2 hrs ago

We can cease and desist with any debate about someone other than Patrick Mahomes being the NFL MVP favorite.

You’ll hear people argue that Kyler Murray, Russell Wilson, Alvin Kamara or anyone else should be “in the conversation,” but the only real talk is that the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback is the overwhelming favorite until further notice. Everyone else is vying for NFL offensive player of the year, though Mahomes should probably win that too.

Sunday night’s heroics, leading a game-winning drive over the Las Vegas Raiders everyone knew was coming, solidified Mahomes’ position. He’s the best player in football and he’s having a phenomenal year.

The odds at BetMGM reflect that.

Mahomes is -118 to win MVP at BetMGM. Next on the list is Wilson at +350. Aaron Rodgers is +550 and nobody else is less than 12-to-1.

This. At this point, Mahomes is recognized as the unquestioned best player in football (despite what some hot take artists say to maintain content for their shows). I have little doubt he will win the award if they maintain the best record in the league with his numbers.

Rodgers needs to have massiv 4 TDs, 400 YDs game against the Titans, otherwise it's done.

I never said the door was closed for Mahomes :-)

At this point it's clear as day that you're incapable of understanding what's being said. You're looking for a reason to be offended so you will find anything to get riled up, snowflake.

Total TDs: Mahomes 38, Rodgers 43

Total Yards: Mahomes 4739, Rodgers 3954

Total Turnovers: Mahomes 7, Rodgers 6

Mahomes needs to close the gap to 3 TDs or less.

That is very possible. Tennessee defense is terrible. But I guess you never know. He didn’t exactly light up a terrible Carolina defense.

the only thing he 'needs' to do is win the final 2 games with a 3:1 td/int ratio.

He might have a better game than that against their DBs. I think 400 and 4 is very doable for him.

I hope Mahomes puts up two back to 375+ yard games and sets the Season yardage record for the final NFL 16 game season. No matter the TDs/INTs Mahomes wins MVP hands down if that happens.

I really don't see that stat to be all that significant. I think 15-1 (with this OL) would speak a hell of a lot louder than 5000 Yards and 40-something TD's. JMHO

Well, he'd probably have a better shot at "stopping that shit" if his OL weren't a patchwork quilt of garbage.

I think the job Mahomes has done this year, with this OL, might be his greatest work ever.

People thought that about the game against the Panthers.

Rodgers has the argument on his side that his weapons are not good enough as the ones Mahomes has.

I think we've probably already debunked that in previous discussions.

Not quite that bad. It’s 5 turnovers in 4 games. 3 of those 4 games featured some of the best defenses in the league (Saints, Bucs, Dolphins). KC offensive line struggling was a factor on 2 of the turnovers.
