I mean c'mon, if you're betting on who will be better going forward, the answer is Ford. And I like Ziggy. Hell, he might even be a better fit for this particular scheme.
But you've gotta hand waive a lot on both Ziggy's resume AND Ford's resume over the last 3 years to just say "it's obvious" that Ansah's the better player. It ain't.
At what point in Ford's career can you say "look, he managed to put together back to back DECENT seasons" let alone GREAT seasons? His production literally looks like an EKG.
Why would anybody realistically expect him to repeat 2018? It's nothing but hope. $16M worth of hope.
It's like nothing about Ford prior to 2018 matters. It never happened. He has 1 good season and suddenly that's the norm for him. Not the first 4 where everybody was hoping he'd get cut because he had trouble beating out a gimpy 50-year old.
Honestly, I just don't get it the Ford stuff. People ask how they're going to replace his production. WHAT PRODUCTION? If his career trajectory holds true, there won't be any. And he'll be getting paid $16M to do said "nothing". [Reply]
