NFL odds: After Sunday night, Patrick Mahomes is now the overwhelming NFL MVP favorite

Frank Schwab 2 hrs ago

We can cease and desist with any debate about someone other than Patrick Mahomes being the NFL MVP favorite.

You’ll hear people argue that Kyler Murray, Russell Wilson, Alvin Kamara or anyone else should be “in the conversation,” but the only real talk is that the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback is the overwhelming favorite until further notice. Everyone else is vying for NFL offensive player of the year, though Mahomes should probably win that too.

Sunday night’s heroics, leading a game-winning drive over the Las Vegas Raiders everyone knew was coming, solidified Mahomes’ position. He’s the best player in football and he’s having a phenomenal year.

The odds at BetMGM reflect that.

Mahomes is -118 to win MVP at BetMGM. Next on the list is Wilson at +350. Aaron Rodgers is +550 and nobody else is less than 12-to-1.

2 MVP's put Mahomes in rare company. So yeah, it is a pretty big deal and he deserves it.

Mahomes has played 50 games thus far in his career. His record is 41-9, with a winning percentage of .820
The only QB that comes remotely close is Brady with a .763 winning percentage. Rodgers stands at .653

The sadness that will overcome me when he finally has a losing season will be too much to bear.

In what world is Patrick Mahomes ever going to have a losing season?

Sure, he won't win double digit games every single year, but 7-9 or worse? I just don't see it.

There won’t be a third party, it’s either Mahomes or Rodgers

1st tip pass interception last week- there were dozens of post-"Whelp, there goes the MVP!"

I guess you missed that. :-)

Rodgers shits the bed and he gets a pass. Mahomes beats the best D in the NFL and it was "not sexy enough".

I want him to get all the Escalades!!

Zero chance if he’s healthy.

Did you miss all those posts that said that Rodgers bad game opened the door again for MVP. I'm even the person who bumped this thread after Rodgers game. Nobody gave him a pass. You're just making up shit for some reason.

It's going to Mahomes. Even if Rodgers numbers are 1% better Mahomes has so much going for him narrative-wise, as the leader of a 15-1 team who just won the Super Bowl. A lot of the squares aren't even going to look at the statistics, they're just going to vote for the 15-1 QB.

I thought todays performance was an MVP performance. I don't think any other QB could have gotten done today what Mahomes did considering our O line. He got the shit beat out of him and he still willed us to a win. He was like Rocky just absorbing the shots. MVP!

We still have 2 more games to win. They won't be easy, but definitely winnable. 15-1 puts the Chiefs up there with the best teams in history, especially if they cap it off with an SB win.
