Your best bet to get a deep, strong roster is probably to trade Ford for a 2 or early 3, sign a few guys like: Chris Long, KJ Wright, Jason McCourty, Brett Jones and then load up in the draft wherever you can.

Of course he's not right now, but he's got every single trait to be a top guy in this league. Most his issues are technical and fixable. There's just such a high ceiling for him I don't know why you wouldn't take him if you're going to use your first on a guy who's got like a year left on his deal.
