Nzoner's Game Room>-- Let's talk about counting calories & routine
Simply Red 09:38 AM 03-29-2018
Hi Guys,

I'm up to a 36 waist - thanks to Del Taco and a few others. As well as eating pretty poorly over the last year, or so.

I'm on a strict regimen now and doing a three week diet and then merging it into a new way of life. I have a history of eating well (normally) - but, again; have been quite clumsy over the past year or so.

My plan is to limit myself to 1100 calories a day the first week, then up to 1200 the second week, and then stay on or around 1500 calories as the norm, with one cheat day per week.

After the third week - I'll get back into some sort of exercise, which too will be part of the new 'way of life'

In this thread I'd like to discuss food ideas for assisting myself (& others) with weight loss.

Since Monday I've not gone above 1100 calories/daily - I have eaten oatmeal, oranges, bananas, hard-boiled eggs and in closing, in the evening - I'll eat one of the Chick Fil A Spicy, grilled chicken wraps w/o dressing (350 cals)

I'm open to ideas - but the goal is - finding items that are a little less common and more creative.

Please assist at your leisure - anyone else need assistance or interested in jumping aboard, I welcome it.

Thanks again

I did get back out there & played hockey for the first time a couple years and it felt great, but I was a bit slow as expected. I'm going to start incorporating the gym again this week, but I'm unsure of how many days to go. I don't want to be a "slave to the grind" type of gym person, but I want the gym to pay off, too.

Any ideas? Maybe 3 days a week? Cardio & full body workout?
3 days a week should be plenty. Personally I think a day of core work, a day of upper body and a day of lower body per week would be fine.

You only need to work out about 45 minutes each day just don't take long breaks between sets, only 1 to 2 minutes, work fast and stick with compound exercises to maximize benefit. Bench press, dead lifts, straight bar curls, etc...Don't worry about weight at first go very light and get 8-10 reps per set and try to get about 5 sets per exercise.

Yeah Wedding Anniversary,

I figure I will give the Low Carb Lifestyle 12 weeks and see if I wish to continue it.

Figured I should add that even though I am in good shape, run a lot (obviously) and lift I still do calorie/macro tracking to keep myself in check. I am a home brewer and craft beer lover so I run to counter my love of good beer. Still need to track what I am consuming though.

Been doing it for years but always pick up something new and interesting here and there and if I can give some advice that may help someone else I would love to.

I am a firm believer in you can do anything you really WANT to do especially if given he tools to help get you there. Doesn't mean its easy, just that most anything is accomplishable (within reason, for example I will never be a NFL QB no matter what I do).

I had a roommate who lost 100lbs and was in awe of her discipline as I shoveled everything I could find into my face and never broke 32".
I encouraged her and constantly told her I could see results but she probably hated my guts while I was power fucking my 99lber in the next room.
wow you must be really cool.

Good day today - went through all my motions - worked the plank work out - this will hold me until I join the gym on the 1st.

I would love to get to a 32" waist, its been probably 15 years. I have been stuck at a 33" for a long time and its not like I am fat I just haven't bit down to lose that last extra hip and lower belly fat.

I have considered starting to do some swimming for additional cardio but haven't done it yet.

Instead I am looking at going KETO, which for me wouldnt be no carb but due to as much cardio as I do I could keep carbs on the lower side and still stay in ketosis.

Any benefits to using a sauna 3-4 times a week?

I'm not far removed from being fairly lean and cut - I just got careless - I'll get it corrected.
