I was always disappointed that we got rid of Sneed and it took me a while to accept. We needed to do it for cap reasons. But Latimer is in the same class of top-notch CB (assuming he’s not injured) and cap Hit this year would be 1.2 million compared to 18 million for Sneed. Worry about the cap for Latimer in subsequent years when we get there.
Some have suggested he won’t play unless the contract is restructured for guarantees. That’s a potential issue, but he would be playing for a ring. And if he did sit out, we wouldn’t be in any worse position This year then we are now. We would lose the draft pick next year, but I think that’s worth the gamble.
But I don’t think it can be that simple. Otherwise, we would’ve done it.
Barring an injury to Mahomes, it would completely guarantee us our 3peat.
Holy Shit, what is this gibberish? Are you bourbon typing? I recognize it as I have done it myself. [Reply]

But if the rumours are right, and the Saints are shopping Lattimore, I would certainly be willing to give them what we got for Sneed. The big advantage would be it would only be a 1.2 million cap hit apparently for this year.
On the other hand, I don’t understand why the Saints would be stupid enough to make such a deal with us or anyone because it does not help their cap situation this year. But who knows.
Apologies to some of you who were confused by my earlier post misspelling Marshon Lattimore ‘s name. [Reply]

It would have to be post-June 1 Trade to work for them, and would carry a huge dead cap hit in 2025 (20M+) in that case.
So they would want to get a nice amount for him, because moving him would make their cap situation in 2025 even more hellish.
Hard to see a deal coming together there. I think they restructured his 2024 contract recently. When I had looked the other day, it was showing a $16.5M cap hit for him.
You'd probably be looking at sending at least a 3rd and probably a 2nd in 2025 for him, and his contract has a player out after this season... steep price. [Reply]

I haven’t spoke to a single member of the Chiefs organization with a bad thing to say about Kadarius Toney. They consistently say his public vs private personas are completely different. They still see enourmous potential in him but don’t want to put too much pressure on him. https://t.co/hCNfZ9Ffmo

This is another reason why they won't sign anyone else.
Anyone who thinks this dude isn't going to have a role here next year is kidding themselves. Andy is probably drawing up new plays for him as we speak. This team doesn't just give up on supremely skilled players unless they're a cancer like Marcus Peters was. A guy like Toney is going to get countless chances because of how disgustingly talented he is. I'm still not sure I've see anyone in my time as a fan who has the kind of skillset he does. Those jukes are straight out of Madden.
If anyone can motivate this kid in a contract year to actually do something with himself, it's Andy, Pat and Trav. [Reply]
