Nzoner's Game Room>Space Exploration megathread
DaFace 09:40 AM 06-01-2014
Since a number of cool things are happening in space exploration these days, we'll widen the scope of this thread a smidge. Conversation about all things space exploration are welcome, whether it be from NASA, SpaceX, ULA, Blue Origin, or anyone else. Chances are most of the discussion will still be about SpaceX since they love to make things public and fun, but nothing's off limits. I'll eventually get around to modifying the OP to include resources for other companies too, but in the meantime, feel free to post any cool stuff you run across.

Not losing any engines is the huge thing to me. Crazy.

Yeah that was great to see. Looks like they activated the FTS on SH? Either way, it did its job.

Go Starship!!

Well bummer wonder what happened at the end. It looked like a cutoff to me rather than an explosion first, but I guess we'll see when they crunch the numbers.

Still, that's a pretty big success. Hopefully the pad is in better shape this time.

Watching the replay, I'm betting they started running low on fuel, lost some engines, and then the FTS triggered as it started to go off course.

You're talking about Starship? What replay are you watching?

Watching the MECO(s) of SH's engines in sequence was one of the coolest things I've seen.

Yeah, second stage. You see a poof, then the engines are dimmer, then a little time, then boom.

You watching the Twitter/X feed? I don't see a way to "rewind" that stupid shit. Wish they'd go back to YouTube.

Try Everyday Astronaut. He mirrors the SpaceX stream, so you can rewind and find it.
