Nzoner's Game Room>Stadium Watch 2024 -Jackson County Residents: How Are You Voting?
Pablo 08:28 AM 03-28-2024
Vote in this poll if you actually live in Jackson county.

We've all shared our opinions in the other thread. But who gives a shit what somebody in Platte County or Johnson County or Phoenix or NYC thinks. We're all just noise.

This lost because it should. If the Hunts want to offer a serious proposal it could actually go somewhere.
It wasn't just a shit proposal you're right the Chiefs didn't do much at all. I went to 2 local engagements one was for the entire Jackson County & one was for our neighborhood.

Neither one had a representative from the Chiefs. Both had someone from the Royals and not only were they short on details but they were VERY standoffish to those who opposed it. I thought the Chiefs success alone might have carried it across the finish line but I was wrong.

There's still avenues for the Royals downtown. Just today the the Crossroads Neighborhood Community signed off on the deal. I suspect we could get a vote on the Chiefs alone and a private/state funding for the Royals. OR the city could do what Sacramento did when voters voted down the arena and the city bit the bullet and spent the money themselves.

I don't think this vote had anything to do with the Chiefs. The Royals process and proposal was so poorly handled all the discussion was shitting on them and the Chiefs were barely even being discussed.

They never put tax issues on a November ballot in a presidential election year. There is a reason most of them are in April or August, low turnout is what you really want.

Kroenke owns Ball too.

Ball is staffed by the same people that staff Empower and Coors. When you cluster the resources, the city wins.

Can you blame Clark? Arrowhead is a depreciating asset. It’s over 50 years old. There’s so much renovating that will need to be done in the coming years. Even the damn ceiling broke on Chris Jones in an interview last year.

I think Clark know that it will cost a shit ton of money to upkeep an old stadium and his thought process is that it isn’t worth it. Might as well get money for a new one in that case.

And honestly Legends is a far better place business wise. Getting a “no” vote gives Clark the excuse to move

It’s exactly this. The chiefs were an afterthought. Because they were brought in as Calvary to rescue the royals from themselves at the end.

I think the Royals could scale back and just focus on keeping businesses around and revitalize the old buildings around the area. Would be able to get private dollars plus money from the city

There was no reason to actually LIKE that proposal. It was little more than an attempted hostage taking.
Will Hunt and Sherman privately fund their own stadiums?

What? 1 of 3 privately funded... Kroenke the richest owner in the NFL and LA is the #2 market... :-)

I wonder how many percentage points the parade shooting took off, too. At least a few.

or

They prefer to move to Kansas and have a bright shiny new facility.

If they were serious about wanting to win this vote, it would have been a bigger push by the Chiefs side.
I think it’s the latter.

Just connecting some dots.. Clark’s dream is to host a Super Bowl. Like obsessed. It’s not happening at Arrowhead. Multiple years we’ve heard about how bad the practice facility has been run down. And there really isn’t an excuse for it unless…

No, why would they, plenty of options for it to be funded.
