Bullshit.
Cotto vs. Canelo is a legit fight and it is next weekend. Mayweather being out of the game helps boxing tremendously. There's actually been a few decent PBC fights as well. [Reply]

Fortunately for her, she'll always have that bad-ass persona. Similar to a guy like Kimbo Slice who became famous for beating up literal bums on the side of the road, and then got picked apart when he started fighting actual mixed martial artists.
The problem with cyborg is that she has been loaded up on test and other steroids for a decade. [Reply]

Yeah, but who cared about Kimbo Slice as soon as he lost? No one really cares about someone who pretends to be a badass; they want the real thing.
I just think that casual fans are fickle in that they only want the monster. You all sound like dedicated fans that actually appreciate the sport rather than the spectacle, so you'll watch for the matchups, not the crossover story.
Lesnar didn't really have any crossover appeal after he lost. Same with Slice. I think it will be interesting to see what happens to Rousey's marketability after this, though. [Reply]
And I'm so pissed I missed Rousey getting knocked out. Fuck the casual "I want to see an undefeated fighter bcuz history" casual fans. They packed every where I tried to go. [Reply]

Does that make her overrated? I don't know. I think she's benefitted from lack of competition. I also believe that fight could have looked totally different with a different approach.

Casual fans for boxing and MMA want to see undefeated fighters lose or win. They drive the sales numbers and are one of the reasons boxing became a sport of managing your career as opposed to fighting the best fights. [Reply]
Al - i'll see you at the Priest Holmes statue next week. Don't bring Rudy Lost or KcChiefsus w/ you - or they get the beatdown too - got it?! I was way right about MMA and Boxing - I know more than you about both. [Reply]
