It will be interesting to see what happens with Sammy next year. I think the smart play is to trade him for a 2, which should happen if he keeps up his play this year, but our coach is Andy Reid and Andy loves his toys.
I can see Veach approaching Sammy next Spring to do what Hitchens and Fish did. Convert some of that $21 million to a bonus to lower the cap hit. [Reply]

No one is trading a 2nd for a player that is owed 21m and 1year. [Reply]

So you’re saying an extension?
I don’t see us paying Sammy and Tyreek both big money at once, could be wrong. [Reply]

Not really.
If Watkins continues to blow up this season and stays healthy, a team will gladly trade a 2nd round pick for a 27-year-old top 10-15 WR. And then extend him to lower his cap hit next season. [Reply]

If Watkins continues to play well this year he will want a bigger contract, not to rework his current one. I'm sure he will be ok with staying in KC but only if we pay him the going rate. More than likely he will be looking to move on so he can get some team to pay him like their main offensive weapon. He has to stay healthy all year though. [Reply]
