About to hit the 5000 post mark on the old thread, the first season 7 trailer today seems like the right time to start the final Game of Thones thread.
I'm going back to the original rules pre-2015. I don't think we need supervision or bannings. Just don't be a dick. Post anything you find online that hasn't aired yet inside of spoiler tags. That's pretty much it. I think we can all handle that...

Yep. GRRM HATES the concept of fan-fiction. Thinks it's bad writing practice and is unrelenting about that opinion. [Reply]

I think the discussions about that are mixing the ideas of foreshadowing and character development. There was plenty of the former, but very little of the latter. Hell, Emelia Clarke herself didn't know the ending, so how could she possibly have acted the part accordingly?
That's really what the issue comes down to. [Reply]

I know, I'm not upset with the events of this season at all. Sure there are problems. But, its all on D&D for finishing this way too fast. HBO would have been happy to let this run 2-3 more seasons. Put up another $100 million per season. All of the actors have said publicly that they were on board for one more season.
If they are tired and want to move on, D&D should have hired showrunners to finish this the right way. You could have got a season after littlefinger death to the battle of winterfell.Winterfell to Kings landing battle where she takes off on the dragon after the battle is won. Is she going to burn Cersi up now? Next year the opening scene is her going full mad queen.
This BS theory that different showrunners would have screwed it up........ well couldn't have done worse. I'm ticked off at D&D for causing the lightening round season. Its criminal like to not showed us the reaction of Sansa and Arya to R+L+=J. What was Bran/Tyrion talking about etc,
I'm okay with the season, just wanted more flesh on the bones. [Reply]
