About to hit the 5000 post mark on the old thread, the first season 7 trailer today seems like the right time to start the final Game of Thones thread.
I'm going back to the original rules pre-2015. I don't think we need supervision or bannings. Just don't be a dick. Post anything you find online that hasn't aired yet inside of spoiler tags. That's pretty much it. I think we can all handle that...

Lol no worries...I'm avoiding it just incase. [Reply]
The theory first surfaced online from a Tumblr user by the name of, uh, WeedsAreFlowersToo, who has put together a compelling list of evidence to prove that we'll be seeing Jaime Lannister return before the Game of Thrones ending yet. For one thing, none of the Thrones cast, including Cersei Lannister's Lena Headey, have posted a single tribute to Jaime's actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau on social media, which typically occurs whenever a fellow performer leaves the show for good.
Then there's the fact that Entertainment Weekly journalist James Hibbard has been conducting exit interviews throughout the season with departing cast members whenever their associated character meets an untimely end, but when asked about the his conversation with Coster-Waldau on Twitter, the writer teased that he was "Holding that one for a bit...".
Put the pieces together, and it's looking very likely that Jaime Lannister didn't suffocate under all those bricks of the Red Keep after all, but could be returning for one last crucial episode. Could the Game of Thrones finale see the Kingslayer become a Queenslayer too? Only a few more days until we find out! [Reply]
You know, that's probably as close of a happy ending for Jon as he can get. First off, he'd be miserable as king. He fell in love with a woman who turned out to be his aunt and a genocidal psychopath, and he had to kill her. And he loves the north and feels more at home with the wildlings than anybody else. So if he heads back up north, gets to hang out with Tormund and Ghost, and hopefully finds another fiery red headed hottie to settle down with, I really don't have a problem with that.

Spoiler!
When I first read that part a month or so ago I thought it was ridiculously stupid. The Night King and White Walkers are gone. Why would there need to be a Nights Watch!? Sure seems like Tyrion did it to get Jon away from all of the shit and back up North where he is happiest. Makes a ton of sense now

I think anybody who thought this would end with Jon and Dany cuddling on the Iron Throne and taking long vacations on the dragons while Arya babysits the kiddies should have damn well known better. :-)
But a bittersweet ending would have been perfect instead of "let's rape Dany's character while neutering Jon Snow and Jamie completely. Also, dumb as fuck plot holes like camping entire armies outside castle walls and randomly assigning plot armor based on what's convenient for the story."

I mean he previously joined the Nights Watch when White Walkers were thought to be a myth. I’m sure it’ll continue for another 1,000 years until they are seen again.
Fuck a happy ending. That ain’t happening. That ain’t GOT.
How D&D got the “main” characters here doesn’t matter. GRRM has said many times including on 60 minutes just a few weeks ago, the ending for the “main” characters ending will be the same in the books and TV. What he considers a “main” character could be open for debate but a “main” group has to include Danerys, Jon, Cersi, Jamie and Tyrion, correct?
So anyway I’m cool with how ever they end because that’s what GRRM’s vision was for them. [Reply]
This horrible season might be a blessing. Hopefully it forces Martin to finish those books and we can actually get character development on Dany going full Anakin rather than just foreshadowing. [Reply]
