Stay Woke NASCAR.
What isn't for show these days?
Anyway had it been true, or if it is true, I still hope the person who did that bullshit would have been hanged with the noose. It's time to kick racist's asses. [Reply]

I mean, even though it turned out to not be anything big it's still a nice gesture that Bubba's competitors and the sport has his back. I don't think it's a bad thing to have them be supportive of Bubba. [Reply]

You think a professional race car driver and his team didn't know what a garage door pull-down looked like? Or happen to notice that stalls all around them had them as well?
Or that he started doing public interviews without ever saying "hey guys - maybe SHOW me what it is you're talking about...."
If the guy wasn't complicit, then he and his team are as dumb as shoes. These guys have been in and out of a million garages in their lives and yes, they know what the damn pull-down at the front of the door does. And it wouldn't have taken a second to realize that there's weren't the only ones.
He didn't concoct this idiot scheme, but he damn sure played along with it.
Or is this one of those 'soft bigotry of low expectations' things where you just presume that poor sweet Bubba just couldn't have figured this out? [Reply]

Come on man NASCAR wants to expand outside of their "bubba" roots. They are trying to go corporate and mainstream. Thats no secret. Its the only "sport" sport fans can watch now. Lots of new eyeballs checking them out.
Showing the legendary "King" of NASCAR, the Kings team sponsoring the "black" driver. The King saying no racists allowed here anymore and every team/pit crew united in that video and pics is marketing genius. Whoever is making these decisions in NASCAR, they are fantastic. The NFL should hire them away from NASCAR. [Reply]
In all of Neck car. You have 1 black driver and 1 noose and countless garages.
Yet they just happened to come together at a low point in US race relations.

I think most people have the same take as me on this.
No issues with the other drivers standing in solidarity with him. They should.
The issue is with NASCAR releasing statements about a noose when this should’ve been debunked immediately. It’s a major face plant for NASCAR and they deserve all the shit they receive for fanning the flames at this time. [Reply]

At the very least, did he ever ask to see a picture of the noose? Wasn’t he at all curious?
Once he saw it, it should’ve been obvious that this was a misunderstanding. [Reply]
These mother fuckers really turned a garage door loop into a national level marketing scheme that even involved the FBI??
Hey guys, could we get you to all line up in support of Bubba in his time of despair? We've got some pr work to do to keep this thing from damaging the brand. We promise we'll show you the noose tomorrow.

I won’t presume to know anything about his background or knowledge base, as I literally know nothing about the guy (or any other racer for that matter).
You, OTOH, are free to assume as you like. [Reply]

Yea, I'd like to know who it was that found the "noose" and reported it.
From what I understand, Bubba didn't even see it. [Reply]

Like I said, who's idea this was, this is the best marketing genius I've seen in America in a long time. If I'm a CEO of a fortune 100 company, I'm figuring out whose idea it was and how many millions it would take to hire him away.
Disclaimer: In no way am I saying it was a BS staged publicity stunt. Bubbas emotions were real and the other drivers and pit crews were real in wanting to support their fellow driver. [Reply]
