Nzoner's Game Room>2019 Free agency Thread
O.city 03:24 PM 02-05-2019
We don't really have one of these yet, so figured we could use this as a place to discuss potential free agent acquisitions and what we would like to look for them to bring in.

If any of you guys are interested, heres a good place to do some research.

I wouldn’t send him to any AFC contender or AFC West team.

So basically no to the Colts, Patriots, Chargers, Steelers, Raiders, or Broncos.

At this point I wouldn't be so picky.

Lots of people here wouldn't want to give him a contract but would want to sign him to a 1y prove-it deal which is essentially what a franchise tag amounts to. I've always been in that camp.

Though admittedly a bit less so now as it's not clear what his role will be in the new scheme.

The Colts have 100 million dollars and are basically not being active...good luck I guess.

The franchise tag isn't a 1-year "prove it" deal. It's a guaranteed average of the top 5 players at his position.

It's a way to keep a marquee player while trying to work out a long-term deal, like they did with Houston, Berry, Hali, and countless others.

If he's not worth a long-term deal, he's not worth the tag. It's that simple.

I'm not THAT bad. I just don't want to tie up that much money in Dee Ford.

If Bell isn't getting the offers he wants, come to KC on a cheap deal.

At least it's only for 1 year.

Yea Ford’s clearly not worth a 1 year deal similar to what Devin Funchess just got.

Mentioned it yesterday, Ballard wants his locker room to be almost too perfect... a bunch of choir boys.

They’re gonna wind up not having enough talent to compete deep into the playoffs. Maybe not even win the division.

Dee Ford in a 4-3 is a situational pass rusher....it'd probably make sense to take whatever you can get for him and spend that money elsewhere.
