Nzoner's Game Room>Marcus Peters also had verbal altercation with assistant coach Sunday

Chiefs cornerback Marcus Peters’ frustration following the Chiefs’ 38-31 loss to the New York Jets didn’t end immediately after the game, it appears.

According to a report by NFL Network’s Mike Garafalo, Peters also had a verbal altercation with an assistant coach on the bus during the team’s ride to airport following the game. The assistant coach was not named.

The Star reported Thursday that Peters’ suspension was related to his decision to leave the field prematurely following the flag toss. The club viewed that as a team issue, as opposed to the penalty flag toss, which it deemed a league issue that Peters was ultimately fined $24,409 for on Friday.

The NFL Network report cited Peters’ decision to leave the field as a reason for the one-game suspension coach Andy Reid levied on him earlier this week, with the verbal altercation also being a contributing factor.

The Chiefs still had a little over two minutes left to tie the game, and Peters returned to the sideline –– albeit with no socks –– as the offense made its last-gasp attempt. But the drive stalled out, and the Chiefs lost for the sixth time in seven games.

Peters’ suspension means the Oakland native will miss the Chiefs’ showdown Sunday against his hometown Raiders. He was not allowed to practice this week and will forfeit a game check.

Garofolo just said on NFLN that if the Chiefs did trade Peters, it would take at least a first round pick in return. Probably more.

But he also reiterated that there’s no real support to the idea that he is on the trading block.

Parker Ehringer will be two years removed from surgery and should compete with a draft pick or a free agent signing at LG. A nose tackle is needed and with RNR, Bailey, and Jones the defensive line should be serviceable. If they can resign Wilson, then there is plenty of young talent at WR.
Even if the Chiefs are able to acquire a safety, NT, WILL, LG, SWR, et al, I wouldn't consider them an "ascending" team.

2019? Yeah, after a two drafts and two offseasons under Veach, along with Mahomes heading into his 3rd season, I hope like hell they're an ascending team.

I just can't see it in 2018, without something miraculous happening, Because Chiefs.

If Peters is traded, Veach has done his homework and it’ll be an incredible deal. No one thought they’d get Kendall Fuller and a 3rd round pick for Alex Smith. I think it’ll be one of the biggest trades in this franchise’s history.

Even bigger than the trade in 2009 that brought Mike Vrabel and Matt Cassel to the Chiefs?

I see no way in hell that Marcus Peters won’t return an incredible package. I think people are underestimating what he’ll bring back. Happened with Alex Smith. One thing is for certain, Brett Veach knows what this team needs and attacks it. Love his aggressiveness. I’m not remotely in agreement if they trade him. I’ll just be curious as to what the return will be? What you think it is?

I think it’s a young ascending player and a pick. My dad is a Steelers fan and I was joking and said sure I’ll trade him for JuJu and their 28th overall pick LOL

I think it’s another young ascending player and picks. Like the Fuller and 3rd round return for Smith. But it’s gota be even higher

Eric Berry probably calls him to ask for life advice when things are troubling him.

I think he's a risk for suspension and getting into trouble because of his history of action both in college and now with the Chiefs. I think he's demonstrated, through his own actions that he doesn't have control of his temper and is prone to irrational decisions. None of those things ever lead to trouble with the league or the law.
He's a hot head in game. No doubt about it. You're the one throwing he's going to get suspended for drugs out there like that has ever happened in the past.

Kelce is a hot head too. Are you going to accuse him of eventual drug use when the Chiefs put him on the trade block in a few years?

He's an immature player who's an elite talent. Being a hot head player literally has zero correlation to being a drug user, but continue to beat that bullshit drum because you don't like him because he sits for an anthem.

It has to be a young ascending player and a first rounder. That's the only compensation that's acceptable. There's no reason to trade a cheap elite player at a prime position for anything less.

There's absolutely no reason to believe that this rumor is "bullshit".

No, it's not.

Unless you believe that somehow, miraculously, the Chiefs, with very little cap space and no first round pick, are going to NAIL the draft and bring in 6 new and effective defensive starters.

Oh, and not lose their best defensive players for the year to injury.

If the Chiefs trade Peters, it won't be because of his football ability, plain and simple.
There is zero to believe Peters is on the trade block. La Canfora has worn clown shoes with his reporting over the last year and Florio's reports are speculative at best due to simply adding Fuller and Amerson. The same Florio that speculated that the Redskins COULD back out of the Chiefs trade. Then the next week they speculated that the Chiefs COULD back out. Now it's that they COULD trade Peters.

The Chiefs are going to have near 40 million in cap space this offseason when Tamba is gone and Alex is traded. I don't know how that quantifies as little cap space, but they have a substantial amount to work with.

Well the offense is ascending with 3 elite playmakers and a young QB that a lot of folks feel is special.

Defense was still 15th in points allowed despite a plethora of players starting that are horrible. Berry coming back as normal is the deal breaker, but a couple of nice contributors in FA and a 2nd rd pick with immediate dividends (safety) would surely make this defense top 10 in points allowed.

I think Veach shares your mindset and will be making more moves to get new young talent in the next 2 months.
