TLO 08:31 PM 01-24-2021
Second straight Super Bowl win incoming.

Time to send old man Brady out to pasture.

We have basically the OL from the Saints game and we are facing a similarly good front 7. In that first half, it was just pass after pass. Some play action, RB or TE chipping to help Wylie, but still passing. And then the 2nd half came, their front seemed worn down, and we ran it super efficiently if you recall. Both CEH and Bell, against a top flight NO run defense, just as TB is.

I think that’s probably the plan here. Test those DBs out early and often, wear that front 7 down and make their LBs play on their heels and not downhill where they are at their best.
I expect lots of jet sweeps, screens, and short passes early. Get those big boys running and worn out, like you said. Let those fuckers chase Tyreek and Hardman for a half and then we'll run it down their throats with a big lead.

Hill has gotten pretty good at defeating zone as well. Watkins was our other zone and man-beater in the intermediate zones, but I noticed in the AFCCG something I've never seen before: Hardman finding the soft spot in the zone. More than once. I have no idea how long he's been doing that, but that is a huge step up for him. He wasn't perfect, as he misread where to go at one time, but just the fact that at least twice he actually found a soft spot to settle in is a big step in the right direction.

Their weakness (secondary) plays right into our strength (pass game). You absolutely make them play left handed early and often and defend the pass. Spread them out with Hill, Kelce, Watkins and Hardman. Good luck stopping it. Early I expect a lot of quick passes. Let our offensive line settle in and frustrate their defensive front. Max protection for any shots downfield.

Also, you know damn well a big story line leading up to the game will be Bucs defensive line vs. KCs banged up offensive line. Bucs defensive front will be foaming at the mouth to get to Mahomes. Run a couple misdirection and screen plays early to Hill and Hardman. Let them feel that world class speed up close.

They're over there saying Bowles should have Davis (the guy Hill torched for 200 yds in the first quarter) on Kelce, and just double Hill with a S over the top. Like a rookie CB has a chance in hell of stopping Kelce. Apparently they didn't see Ward on Kelce a couple weeks ago.

His (Hiil's) improvement as a WR is nothing short of amazing. The growth he's made still doesn't get talked about enough. I remember watching a interview with him a couple of years ago and he brought it up that he's a lot more than just a "guy that's fast".

He has improved leaps and bounds in his route running and while he always had the speed and ability to cut and stop on a dime, it's been taken to another level. He didn't even play WR in college and was a ****ing RB for a good amount of the time. Incredible work ethic that gets glossed over all of the time.

All true. When he was drafted I was certain he'd never be more than another Dante Hall/Devin Hester type of player. Purely a gadget guy.

But by his third season i knew I'd been wrong about him. Now he's one of the top 3-4 receivers in the league. Amazing for just a "return specialist."

The other narrative will be how Brady will dice up our secondary, because it's just not that good. "Brady is an elite QB facing a bunch of average DBs," or whatever.

You play man and try to single Kelce they will just put him in space all game long and give him two way gos. Dude will go for 15+ catches and 200+ yards. That is pitch and catch for Mahomes. Gonna need to get a little more creative than that!

Probably 3-4 TDs as well. I doubt it's a real idea in Bowles' head anyway, but some of the nonsense over there is very amusing. They do have a couple very fast LBs, but I guess none of them are good in coverage? I know they can play the run pretty well. A couple of them have true sideline-to-sideline speed, as I recall.

So, I don't know you, and I am not familiar with your posting style, but TwistedChief is usually not a dick, so I have to believe that you are the problem.

But, so what? Say anything and everything you want to about our team, the Kansas City Chiefs. I am sure your posts will be read by people who agree. Unfortunately, the people who disagree are going to be the group that comments on your viewpoint.

Also, I am not sure if you know this, but Chiefsplanet is home to hundreds of NFL caliber coaches and talent evaluators, so just keep that in mind when posting.

Their front 7 is one of the best if not the best against the run in the NFL. Devin White and Lavonte David are two of the best linebackers in the game. By all means leave them on the field all game. Lets see how they are in coverage against Kelce and Watkins. There is a reason Reid didn't even try to run the ball in the first meeting. Mahomes could have dropped 700 through the air on them if he needed to. Again, make them play left handed. They are built to stuff the run up front with linebackers who run sideline to sideline with the best of them. Dont play to their strength. Put the ball in Mahomes' hands and let him do what he does.
