These logos show every high-major college basketball player individual season since 2007-08. Higher up is more efficient. Further right is taking on a bigger offensive role. David McCormack — the Jayhawk logo in the lower right — is having an unprecedented-type season. pic.twitter.com/0IDmpnoisj
Could it be the worst individual season in KU history? Imagine how good we'd be if his minutes had been given elsewhere.
I'm not sure this team can get to where it wants to be without McCormack. I think Self is forcing the issue for a reason. But he's not even getting that many minutes. He's barely playing more than last year.
His efficiency numbers have to go up. That has to be a result of the small sample. His FG% was 13% higher last season.
Mainly, he just needs to start using his size to his advantage. No more fadeaways vs smaller players. Take it up strong, draw fouls. I'm confident Bill will get him to a point where he's at least serviceable and not hurting the team. [Reply]

Seems to me he's both rushing and making bad decisions on the offensive end (which he wasn't doing in past years when he was relied on less). His numbers will go up somewhat, but the question is how much.
Due to his defense, I also doubt he'll be all that playable at the end of games all season in any case (we hid him in a zone at the end vs. Tech). [Reply]
