Nzoner's Game Room>Anyone here doing the E-Cig / Vape thing?
pr_capone 03:05 AM 11-17-2013
Thanks to my vape, I've had only one single cigarette in the past 3 weeks. I have zero cravings for them and I feel considerably better. In fact, I still have about 5 smokes left in a pack and just can't see myself smoking those... don't want to.

Even better... 5ml of juice, which costs $5, lasts me about 2 weeks meaning that I am spending less in the long run. I only smoked, at most, a pack a week... but still.

I tried the Blu E-Cigs but they were terrible. Trying to "smoke" out of one of those was like trying to take a hit off a joint that was rolled WAY to tight.

I'm using an eGo-V v2 mega battery with variable voltage control with a gravity tank.

You can get a battery for about $10 though. Maybe from a local store. Buck posted a really nice list of decent batteries earlier in the thread, make sure you don't get a shitty one or you'll be pissed.

This is the best single battery you can get and this is the cheapest you'll get it from an American company.

Cool. I bought 2 from them already. Came quickly, shipped the same day I bought them (from Chicago IIRC). I will be getting 2 more soon.

Awesome sauce. I only have two batteries right now and I want to get four to increase my rotation time.

These batteries last longer and provide better power. They're great. You'll like em.

I have a Smok Twist (with the little dial on the bottom that lets you set the volts\watts between 3.2 and 4.8 or 4 and 12 volts\watts). I have a usb charger that came with my initial setup, and it connects to a wall plug. When charging the battery (it's a 510 connection, eGo) you screw it in to the charger, and the green light turns red. Also the fire button on the battery blinks.

Now, it's taking FOREVER for these things to fully charge. The batteries (I have 2) are not even 2, maybe 3 months old. What happens is, I leave them on the charger, sometimes overnight, so it could be 12 hours later and the red light is still on. I use the battery, and it works fine, but I don't get even a half day off of it. For either battery. I bought a new charger, and the first time I used it, it charged the batteries in like 3-4 hours, so I figured problem solved. But these last 3 or 4 days it's doing it again.

I know I need to pony up some cash and just buy one with a separate battery that will last a lot longer and has a display which will tell me how much battery life I have, but things are a bit tight right now.

Do y'all think it's the batteries, like they just won't fully charge?

(I say "proper care" because I clumsily dropped my Spinner about a million times and it died early on me.) Innokin makes a rechargeable, the iTaste VV 3.0, that has been really good for me. I still have two of them and they work well. You can get just the battery part (works with eGo and 510) and use the other parts that you already have. I have seen them from $25 to $35 for just the battery.
^^^^pretty much this

Ive got a couple of those spinners, my girlfriend still uses one. They take forever to charge. I dont think theres anything really wrong with yours, thats just how they are.

Best bang for your buck is easily the innokin itaste VV3.

I'm rolling with two Efest IMR 2k mAh (10 amps) and they've been solid. I have an Efest XSmart single USB charger that I use. I am thinking of getting a new charger because I have caught it charging to 4.25 with my multimeter.

So, do you drain the battery completely before charging it? I figure the charge should last me till I go to bed and then charge overnight...

Nooooooooo.

My SVD has built in circuitry that manages the charge. The fire button will glow red when it is low. It will refuse to fire below a certain level. You aren't supposed to completely drain these batteries and you never charge them unattended. You can do that with most of the built in batteries (Spinner, Twist, VV 3.0), kind of like a cell phone, but it is still recommended that you pull it off the charging cable once it is done.

I think the Vamo5 has the same built in circuitry. That's why you use an "unprotected" battery because the mod itself has protection.

Charging an 18650 unattended means: Explosion, fire, vapocolypse, cats and dogs sleeping together, end of the world, demons will fly out of your ass and eat you alive. Never do it.

Holy shit...I thought the charger kicks off after the battery is charged?

It is supposed to. I haven't had a problem other than my charger taking my battery to 4.25 volts instead of 4.20 volts. Not a huge deal but I am keeping my eye on it. It's a small plastic device. It can fail. You just need to be aware of it.
