Ticket sales are far more robust than expected, so theaters are adding additional playing times.

I think the estimates of $100-140 million dollar opening weekend are low.

Just seeing the vintage X and TIE's getting down is JIMP-inducing.

I really hope this movie does well so that the standalone films are afforded extra leeway and depth that Disney would not allow in the main films.

FWIW, Lucasfilm confirmed that Obi Wan is not in the movie.

Also, there have been no plans for an Obi Wan prequel because 7-9 haven't played out yet...


Long story short, LF is inadvertently confirming Rey is a Kenobi, as I've thought all along...

That was my first guess as well.

The scene where she's sneaking around the space station similar to Obi-Wan in ANH put that thought in my head.

I wouldn't count on it.

That was originally the plan and while this film won't have the crawl, Disney execs were main reason behind the extensive reshoots because this film was originally too far off in tone from the main saga.

Maybe that will change once Iger and Horn are gone but in the meantime, I wouldn't expect them to be too far off the beaten path, although that makes the Miller/Lord hiring a little strange, as those are the last guys to hire, then neuter, IMO.
