Source: Closer Wade Davis and the Colorado Rockies have agreed on a three-year, $52M deal. It's the highest per-year salary ever for a reliever. The deal includes a fourth-year vesting option that could take the total to $66M. Full details at Yahoo Sports: https://t.co/dFgJr4Ur4o

Smart moves by the Rockies, IMO. Building up that bullpen is a good recipe for them.

Happy for Davis. Feel like that had to set the top end of the reliever market. Bet we see Holland and Reed sign over the next few days.

It does make you wonder what kind of haul Herrera could bring, especially around the deadline if he rebounds.

It does. Probably won't have that market heat up until Holland is off the market.

This offseason has to be a disappointment to Hosmer.
If Hoz thought he was getting $200m, he's a fool. Even if it was his agent floating that number, he should have also been keeping Hoz grounded and telling him that there was no chance of it happening.

@jonmorosi: Hard to imagine a scenario in which Mike Moustakas accepts a one-year deal, even a lucrative one, with intent of reentering market next winter. He’d face greater competition then, with Machado and Donaldson available as free agents. @MLBNetwork @MLB

Plus he'd be 30 years old. Yeah it's only one year, but it's a big one... it'd probably make it harder to get a really good long term deal.
