Yep, your right, I recall thinking how in the he'll will we win the 12 again looking like that! IIRC, wasn't that their 1st ever win against us? [Reply]

Covid needs to go away. The basketball is too bad.
The play was to attack the middle of the floor. He could have gotten behind the guy in the middle by half court then it’s an easy pass to Garrett while their rotation is ****ed up. Nope. They just did Walmart the defense wanted.
That wasn't a garbage game. Tech has the #1 defense on Kenpom. It's not going to be pretty.

Good road win.
Maybe I'm overreacting, but there were definitely terrible aspects to it.
Officiating.
A bunch of dumbass mistakes leading to turnovers.
A bunch of soft ass rebounding.
A bunch of soft ass defense.
A bunch of plays doing whatever the defense wants rather than attacking.
God awful shooting, even with open looks. [Reply]

I don't think this team played soft overall, at least not on the defensive end. Now, the offensive rebound TT got were frustrating, sure, but those are a matter of locating a guy to box out. Our guys get complacent at times but it's not the same as being soft. And they did come through in the end and execute well enough to win at a tough place to win.
The mistakes are just that, mistakes. They are just brain dead plays most times (i.e. Agbaji throwing it away late because he was afraid he was going to travel). Ochai, as good as he is, still makes too many boneheaded turnovers. And Garret is not a great shooter but he has always been decent at driving and getting a shot. This year, he is struggling with that. I think (hope) he will find his rhythm soon. And Wilson, who has been by far our best scoring threat, had an off night. That didn't help.
In the end, the only thing that matters is they came away with a win. [Reply]

That it was, a gritty effort by both teams, whom are in the top 10 defense.
TT allowed KU to run their offense freely for about 8 Mts the 1st half.
KU allowed TT the same the 1st 9 mts the 2nd half.
KU going to a 2-3 zone at that point allowed KU to reel the game back in. Good call by Self, although I was screaming to switch it up instead of staying in it. TT wasn't making any shots and never really switched up the offense to attack it. Self changes back to a man 2 man last couple of minutes.

They ended up at 33% from 3 and 40 overall. Not that bad against a really good D on the road.

Not everyone can establish their whining using graphs with 13 years of NCAA player statistics. [Reply]
