Lets cut all of our injury prone players taking dead money hits in the process, trade the most productive player on the defense in 2018. Then overpay a bunch of injury prone players.
I don't care if someone like Darby gets a decent sized contract. He may be an injury risk. Just cut out the guarantees, add injury incentives, and hopefully his injury history is somewhat priced into the contract.
We aren't looking for the future of our defense. We're looking for stopgaps and all those either come at the expense of performance or injury risk. [Reply]

What injury prone player has veach signed to a dead money deal? We overpaid Watkins and honey Badger so we aren't hamstrung long term like we were with Houston and berry to long term deals. [Reply]
I could see a high number for a few years, sorta like TM. Paying a premium for production while limiting long term risk so we can afford PM, Hill and Jones. Now that we have all this room, I'd be into it. [Reply]
I'm good with giving him a 1 year prove it deal, he's going to have a down year after the ACL injury... Whatever the Chiefs do, please don't give this injury prone player big time money right out of the gate. [Reply]
Re: Darby visit for Chiefs - primary concern is obviously ACL surgery after injury last season (wk 10). That would put him at approx 4 months out and in the middle of rehab for this injury currently. Things that any team will consider are ..@ArrowheadPride
joint integrity, condition of internal knee structures, pace/progress of rehab, obviously strength of lower body, is player running/cutting well at this point, has player begun plyometric progression, etc...@ArrowheadPride
Fortunately for player, his timeline for complete recovery for this surgery if all has been going well puts him in a good spot for participation in camp, potentially even limited in OTAs/Mini Camp if everything continues to go well. @ArrowheadPride
Any team will scrutinize this player with diagnositic imaging as well as functional testing to determine if they feel he is in a good spot for continued progress and recovery. @ArrowheadPride
