Watching a FF podcast where a non-chiefs fan suggested Pachecco might be a bust for the FF season.
Current sentiment is that Pachecco killed the second half of the season and playoffs last season, and that he'll see more touches and 3rd down responsibilities now that McKinnon is gone.
In the video they argue that the Chiefs RB room is weak after Pachecco, that there's nothing stopping us from making another acquisition for a 3rd down back to support our run game.
I honestly don't know what CEH did last year that made people like him again. It was his worst year by far and he's still slow, injury prone with bad vision.
I'd kill for a fast shifty back like Achane in this offense. Wish we'd taken a shot at that in the later rounds of the draft.

Halo effect, he caught some balls that weren't easy catches mid season when our entire receiving core suddenly became all thumbs. Toney drops during Detroit and NE, MVS drops for the potential win against the Eagles, Sky Moore (fu** Sky Moore) drops everything. Clyde started filling some holes and became kind of the wing man who entertained the big girl so you could go after the prom queen. Then he stepped up during the parade incident and helped out a bunch of kids who were separated from parents. I'm not saying I think he's wonderful, but this was the narrative that made everyone like him again. [Reply]

We don't run under center almost ever so I'm not sure it matters much
We are also one of the worst teams on 3rd and short and 4th and short over the last 3 years while being one of the best if not the best in every other situation [Reply]

Im gonna have to disagree with you. I don’t care what the numbers say, ceh was a much better back. He’s stopped pretending to be something he’s not and now plays to his limitations. He doesn’t have outside speed or great vision, but now he’s decisively just moving forward and he’s gotten way stronger in his lower body to plow forward. Hopefully resolving ptsd is a big step too.
I don’t think he’s some stellar backup but he’s not as bad as you say he was. [Reply]

I don't see how you can say that he's gotten better but at the same time want to ignore numbers. So be stopped doing negative things and somehow starting getting less yards? How does that make any sense. If he started only doing the things that fit him, where are the results?

Im only speculating because I havent dived into this carry by carry. Just going off memory. But I don’t think he’s being asked to do the same things. In the past a lot of his averages were carried either by 1-2 games where he went berzerk or some 50+ yard run (which carries a lot of weight with less carries), which isnt ideal for an offense that last year couldn't afford to lose yards on any down. I feel like in the past he has chased big plays. Now his role is to fight for smaller chunks of yards. Which means he's going to get hit earlier and often and he's going to get a lot of productive 2 yard gains. In his role I'd rather consistent chunks of yards than boom or bust.
. I think he's stopped chasing the big play and is instead trying to be more of a power back. To me he's looked the strongest he's ever looked. And with more time focusing on this role maybe he can get even better. Again this is just from memory but maybe someone can prove me wrong. I just seem to recall in prior seasons it was bust-bust-bust-big play and that isn't better. [Reply]
