I see no reason whatsoever to draft an RT in this class. Everyone has their opinions but mine is you can throw Latham, Fuaga, Guyton, and Mims into that bag. I'm not especially interested with Taylor on board.
Thomas is the only WR I'm considering moving up for and I wouldn't want to use a 1st or 2nd from next year's draft to do it because I think the LT class next year has a chance to be better. I don't think the overall OT class is better, just so we're straight.
This team doesn't have a ton of needs but an elite weapon for this year would be a huge boost to the chances of a 3-peat, especially with the Rice situation and how that could play out. We can dick the dog and sign Donovan Smith again.
I agree with all this, although I probably wouldn't move up for Thomas. If we get Donovan Smith back I'd almost certainly wait it out and get a WR at 32. There's a lot of RTs floating around that I'm not particularly interested in gambling on switching to LT.
I think the price to move up for a genuine LT stud is going to be too high and burn through draft capital we need to sort some sneaky needs this year and next. [Reply]
Gotta say it's probably not the route I'd go either crow. BTJ at that cost doesn't seem worth it to me. I mean I could see it being worth it but like Nightfyre I've got too many questions at this point. Definitely a bold move! [Reply]

Just too much depth.
Agreed.
Mine, based on us standing pat at our picks...
1) Tyler Guyton, OT - Oklahoma
- I really, REALLY want to take one of Mitchell, Franklin, or McConkey here. But, I also really understand the demand to protect the franchise at all costs, as well. Give me a potential future LT here.
2) Devontez Walker, WR - North Carolina
- Tez seems somewhat of a Rice clone physically, but his vertical game would be perfect lined up across from Rice and his ability to work the middle of the field.
3) Trey Benson, RB - Florida State
- I could go any number of directions here, but loading up on offense is the way to go this season. Benson could be a redundant pick with the rugby kid here to allegedly return kicks and MEH returning, but Benson does have a good combo of size, power and speed. I wouldn't be against a tight end with this pick, even if I'm good with Kelce, Gray, and Irv Smith as our group. [Reply]

Not liking ignoring WR again but I love Benson. And Pacheco backup is a sneaky bigger need than most want to acknowledge. [Reply]

Drafting a WR in the 2nd for the second year in a row is "ignoring WR again"?
I'm not going to go back and forth with you in this thread, but this is exactly why people are so over your shit. [Reply]

Like I said, if one of those three is sitting there at our pick, it's going to be really hard to pass them up. It becomes a matter of if they think Guyton has more value at his position than one of those three, obviously.
I feel like with Hollywood signed that receiver may not be the call in the 1st. Tackle and receiver will be our first two picks, maybe not in that order, but I feel confident thinking that way. [Reply]

I was thinking of doing a mock yesterday and I had Guyton and Walker in mind 1/2. Both really high ceilings guys.

I like that a lot and would be considering/interesting in moving up in round 4 to grab Jermaine Burton at WR, too.
I know he's kind of a shithead, but the talent and profile would fit so well. [Reply]
