My last two trips to our little town of Branson West resulted in seeing private citizens with a pistol holstered.
I was right behind one in line at the bank and the other one came in to shoot the shit with the barber cutting my hair. The only thing holding the second guys gun in the holster was gravity, no strap.
I am pro gun and all for peoples rights, but why? Why does someone feel they need to be packing heat while running errands?
It makes me pretty uncomfortable to say the least. Is this person stable enough to packing heat? Is he or she sober? Are they worried about a jealous lover or spouse gunning them down? Is there going to be a shootout?
What is your opinion? Are we all going to have to be packing soon? Are we going to regress to 200 years ago, like the wild west?
Who vetted this person to have this weapon in public? [Reply]

Open carry without a permit is allowed under Missouri law, however, cities such as Kansas City require people to have permits. Concealed carry permit holders must be at least 19 years old. There is no background check required to purchase a firearm and there is no ban on assault weapons.Feb 15, 2024 [Reply]

Open carry is becoming more prevalent. Getting a concealed carry requires registering your weapon and yourself for all intense purposes.
There are a lot of people that are carrying openly in hopes of an engagement. They don't seem to realize that they are also making themselves the first targets for someone skilled. [Reply]
My wife carries every day. Her hobby is being a firearms instructor. She’s bad ass. Frankly you want people like her out there in society. Also you are troubled by the people with weapons that you see. Let me tell you there are 10x the number of people out there that don’t have it on display. You would never know my wife is packing.
And as for you comment about it not being strapped in. It shouldn’t be. And if they are legit there will be one in the chamber ready to go.
We are just going to have to disagree on that, but I am not married to a badass gun expert either.
My holster only requires a quick flick of the thumb to release it and can all be done with one movement when going for the gun. But it also keeps it in place.

I think there should be a national push for women to conceal carry. We do 70% of the retail shopping.
But not all women.
And not even all the men in this thread.
I'm trained to get a 300+ lb man off me. But if he wants to really hurt me there's only so much I can do.
But you can't have a concealed carry here and an MED card unless you do it a little shady. I don't get scared when I see a firearm even if I take note of who has it. [Reply]
Open carrying is for tools just wanting to show off what they have. If I were going to go on a rampage the first thing I’m doing when entering a building is checking for open carrying idiots. I’m taking them out first. It’ll get rid of any obvious known threats I have.
Carrying a gun into a bank is still illegal since it’s a federal building. Same as the post office. [Reply]

That may very well be, but under federal law, a person must be 21 to purchase a handgun. That is across the board, in all states. As far as packing the handgun, that is all over the board, depending on the specific state regulations. [Reply]

No it's not just for tools.
The first thing you do in a rampage is kill everyone you can. And at our last mass shooting exercise it was estimated to take SWAT 30 mins to get to our shooter.
She took out a hundred people in that 30 mins. [Reply]
