Been meaning to start a thread on this for years and never have for some reason. Big fan of both the original (what I've seen/remember of it...) and the rebooted series.
Doctor Who star Elisabeth Sladen, who was also in spin-off series The Sarah Jane Adventures, has died aged 63.
Sladen appeared as Doctor Who assistant Sarah Jane Smith in the BBC television sci-fi series between 1973 and 1976, opposite Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker.
The Liverpool-born actress appeared in four series from 2007 of The Sarah Jane Adventures on children's channel CBBC.
Sladen had been battling cancer for some time and leaves actor husband Brian Miller and daughter Sadie.

Sarah Jane Adventures creator
Sladen first appeared as Sarah Jane alongside the third Doctor, Jon Pertwee, and stayed for three-and-a-half seasons, also working with the fourth Doctor, Tom Baker.
Her character, a journalist, was renowned for being inquisitive and stronger than some of the Doctor's other assistants.
After her time in the Tardis, Sladen returned to her native Liverpool where she worked in theatre.
She returned to the role on several occasions over the years and was given her own spin-off series on CBBC in 2007, in which she appeared with the most recent two Doctors, David Tennant and Matt Smith.
In 2006, ahead of rejoining Doctor Who, Sladen said of the programme: "I think it has lovely layers and I'd defend the programme to anyone.
"I'm very emotionally part of that programme and I think a lot of the people who worked on it are. You used to love going to work every day."
I recently watched a few of the old Sarah Jane serials. It's a shame she is gone.

Donna is your #2? I simply do not understand. [Reply]

I really, really, reallyreallyreally hope she's not Michael's replacement.
Wow, I can't believe I hadn't heard this. I figured the Will Ferrel bit was just a red herring, but I hadn't heard about her.

While Amy is my current favorite, I can understand how one could argue for either Rose or Martha. Donna is, shall we say, not traditionally pretty. Plus her character is soooo obnoxious that it makes it incomprehensible to me how anyone can put her anywhere but last. [Reply]
Thanks 3rdEye. For my tastes Amy Pond beats those others pretty handily. I guess the blonde with black eyebrows is alright although it's for certain the carpet doesn't match the drapes. Those other two? Ugh *shudder* [Reply]
freema agyeman is beautiful. billie piper isn't bad, although i don't like blondes as a rule. catherine tate makes me want to scoop my eyeballs out with a rusty spork. [Reply]

You like the horse-face look huh?
I like it on my quarterbacks but not so much on women. [Reply]
