Saw it today. Definitely met my expectations. Probably up there in TDK realm for me. Loved it all...the movie felt like watching a comic book event. The crowd was silent esp at the end. Awesome job Marvel...oh and that after credit scene got me pumped. Definitely an emotional and fun experience that I want to see again in the next week.
In the scene where they have Thanos tied down and are struggling to manually pry the gauntlet off his hand... why did they not chop off his arm and just haul the entire limb back to headquarters? [Reply]

So is Thor now is possession of the Odinforce now that Odin is officially dead? I assume he is since he was able to handle the power of a freaking star at his back....
And if you've never seen the novel where Thor of a distant future protects a dead Earth from Galactus, go find it.
That's a good question, and brings up something else that bothered me a bit about that subject...
Spoiler!
So in Thor: Ragnarok, Mjolnir gets broken, and Odin makes an awesome quote to a bummed out Thor asking "Are you the God of Hammers?" And one of the main points is that Thor doesn't need his hammer to take advantage of his power. Yet in Infinity War, he makes a direct quote along the lines of "We need this badass Thanos-killing hammer if we want to win."

Also, where are the Agents of Shield in all this? I dont watch the tv show
They threw out a line for Hawkeye, but I forget what it was.
Ant Man... god. No explanation for his absence, but how the hell are they going to go back to an "ordinary" superhero film so soon after this one? [Reply]

Also no need to see it in 3D.
Maybe it was the angle I was at but the 3D in this film just isn't great.
Weird, because Black Panther had the best 3D I've ever seen. [Reply]
Obviously someone will get the gauntlet back and bring those characters back to life -- or at least the most profitable ones. :-)
I fully expect Adam Warlock to assemble an army of celestials/gods, like in the comics. They can deal with Thanos messing with people on a "local level," but eliminating half of life is too flashy a move -- the gods will step up.
You guys are about to see the universal big dogs show up. They've already alluded to the "Living Tribunal" in Doctor Strange. They've already alluded to Eternity in Guardians of the Galaxy 2. They directly said there are celestials in Guardians of the Galaxy 1. Dormammu is still alive. Surtur is still raging. Ego will regenerate. They'll unearth Galactus.
It won't be what the movie is about but it'll happen at some point.
