Media Center>Soprano's Season 6 discussion.........
Kylo Ren 02:35 PM 02-02-2006
My wife and I are excited about the upcoming season of Sopranos. We've been waiting for about 2 years for this next season. This show is addictive.

Originally, I missed the first few episodes of season one. I've never seen them. But HBO has been showing all of the Sopranos episodes in order lately. I started watching every episode, starting with season one, episode one about a month and a half ago. It's been great. I watch it every weekday night at 7pm. I'm picking up allot of stuff that I missed the first time around. Also, seeing the entire series from the beginning, in order, episode after episode is really making things more clear. There were some things that I was foggy about. There's such a long offseason between seasons that you can forget important details sometimes. The timing will be just right. I should finish the final episode just prior to March when the new season starts. I can't wait.

Discuss.......

After reading another Soprano's thread, the topic of SPOILERS came up. So I thought there should be some RULES about spoilers for this thread.

I would say that one should read and post at your own risk. We will bump this thread to the top after each episode and have a discussion of that episode. I don't know how you can have a discussion without revealing spoilers. I don't even know why they'd be considered spoilers if the episode has already aired and most of America has seen it. So, if you want to post a "spoiler warning" in your post, that's fine. But if you don't, no one should complain. If you haven't see the current episode, you should not read this thread until you have.

With that said, if you have some inside information about an upcoming episode that would be a spoiler, you SHOULD NOT post that on this thread. I can't imagine that happening, because the Soprano's producers gaurd their secrets like Fort Knox. But, if you know something about an upcoming episode, keep it to yourself until after the episode airs. This is really common sense stuff, but I thought it should be spelled out just to keep arguments to a minimum.

A whole lot of this show goes over your head, doesn't it? Actually, I blame you personally for the crappy season. You wanted to have the season 6 Sopranos thread where you did nothing but, bump, bump bump without any contribution. The writers for this season obviously got sucked into your black hole of stupidity and churned out a season full of doo-doo.

Please don't screw up Deadwood or Entourage for the rest of us by starting threads on those shows.

Thank you

Wonder what they will call the new diet pill packem? :-)

Diet Pill Maker Sues 'Sopranos' Actor

NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - Joseph R. Gannascoli, who played a closeted gay mobster on HBO's "The Sopranos," is being sued by the manufacturer of a diet drug.

The maker of Stacker 2 filed a lawsuit Thursday claiming Gannascoli hasn't been doing enough to promote the product after receiving about $316,000 from the company over the last 2 1/2 years.

"He was very difficult to work with all the time," Robert Occhifinto, president of Sussex County-based dietary supplement maker NVE Pharmaceuticals, told The Star-Ledger of Newark for Friday's newspapers.

Gannascoli, 47, disputed the company's claim, which came after a tough few episodes for his character, Vito Spatafore, who was beaten to death after his secret homosexual life was discovered.

"I begged them to do things but they wouldn't," he told the newspaper. "They didn't like I was doing the gay thing" in his TV role.

Last month, Gannascoli signed with another company to endorse a competing diet pill.

Last week was repeats. Tonight was the season finale. For a finale it sucked like the rest of the season. Strong first 5 minutes and some nice shots of Julianna Margolise (sp?), but that's about it.

Disappointing finale. I guess it left alot open to wrap up for next years final 8 episodes. Meadow and Janice were almost non-factors this season. I guess that's a good thing. Christopher is back to "using". That's too bad. I prefer him to be clear headed.

Well, now that the season is over, if you were the writer, where would you take the various plotlines next season?

.......OR, if you prefer........

Now that the season is over, where do you predict the writers will take the various plotlines next season?

About the only way to salvage the series is to have Tony climb out of a TV and whack the writers for this last season.

That's what I call boring TV. I think HBO outsourced the writing to a Chinese opium den.

Season 7 episode 1.

Phil dies. The creepy "we've got to stop meeting like this guy" takes over the New York family and his first act is to start a war with New Jersey. He orders a hit on Chris. Chris gets whacked, but it is witnessed by Margolise.

Episode 2.
Tony is enraged. Carmella asks him a question about tile colors in her spec house and he gets pissed off and throws her through a window. Tony see's Melfi because he's upset he killed Carm. She pisses him off too, and he throws her out a window. Tony order Pauly to retaliate.

Episode 3.
Pauly leaves his "mothers" nursing home to carry out the order when outside he is confronted by the Russian from the snowy woods. It's a cat and mouse episode where Pauly ends up killing the mad Serbian.

Episode 4.
Tony is pissed off he hasn't heard from Pauly. AJ tells him he's going to marry the Puerto Rican woman and Tony gets pissed off and throws AJ through a window. There is a lot of broken window symbolism this year.
