To be clear: Former #Patriots QB Tom Brady has an agreement in principle to join the #Bucs, source said. It is believed to be roughly $30M per year.

Still think Willie Gay Jr. would look great here.

Sounds like Brady gave Tampa Bay a hometown discount!

I think Sammy is an ideal fit for Green Bay. They're probably not interested in trading all that much, but I'm sure they'd throw a mid-lower round pick, which is certainly better than nothing if you're the Chiefs.

The Chiefs have no cap space. You are right in that immediate moves need to be re-structures, extensions or cut/releases. I expect only minor 2nd/3rd wave free agent acquisitions. No cap, especially with no movement on Jones.
So create some cap space by cutting him.

It’s not all big fish free agents being picked up today. There’s a blend of talent going off the board.

There’s no reason to hold onto Watkins right now if they know they’re just going to cut him.

I could be wrong, but I don't think GB has cap space for Sammy.

Nobody is trading Sammy with that cap number

Maybe.

Agent could negotiate an extension with the other team prior to the trade and make the cap number drop a bunch.

The #Patriots are signing WR Damiere Byrd to a one-year deal source says. Coming off a 32-catch season with the #Cardinals. This is where I usually say, "And his next pass will be from Tom Brady" but, ya know...

The #Bills are expected to sign #Seahawks DE Quinton Jefferson to a 2-year deal, source said. An underrated starter in Seattle.

I could be mistaken, but I think I read that if we wait to cut him after June 1st, we could spread his dead money out over 2 years? Or some such thing.
