I've been having a sore throat, mild fatigue, and a headache. Got tested yesterday and had my results about 10 minutes later.

I was negative.

The doctors don't even seem to care about what else it could potentially be anymore. She looked at my throat to make sure it didn't look like strep and that was about it.

There will be no Middle or High School football in Missouri this year.

So about 60 percent of kids and teens may have neutralizing antibodies from other coronavirus infections. Wouldn’t that theoretically make them kind of a “brake” for infection outbreaks?

The smartest thing would have been to keep the schools open and protect the nursing homes..

What do you think we did? The opposite!

Italy was very similar. Lots of people living with their grandparents etc. Like young adults still eat dinner with their parents and grandma every night - that type of thing. Spain and France are similar I think. It seems to be something about the Romance language and/or Catholic countries. My mom was one of 7 Irish Catholic kids and I see a lot of similar dynamics in our family.

Also recent immigrants - 1st, 2nd, 3rd generation - tend to have very tight-knit communities and family groups in general.

It's something I've always admired and even envied about Hispanic culture out here. They always have family and community support. It just happens to be working against them right now.

Agree. :-)

Nursing homes are obviously tough. They have to have staff.

Oh, she's fine. She's a pediatric NP at a clinic in a low income area so she's been seeing positive patients (or patients with positive parents). She wanted to go see her grandma, so she got a test. Anyway, the trip got cancelled because granny got a bad case of Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever.

But yeah, the trip was supposed to have been early last week but the test results never came...

Closing Hospitals and nursing homes would have been a great way to stop the spread of COVID , I don't really see a downside maybe I'm missing something.
