Yep, we need Mahomes with Reid's strengths, but to minimize his weaknesses. Let's be real: we already wasted perhaps the best year a QB has put up in NFL history. There is no upside to tonight's loss. Sure, we will be a perennial contender with Mahomes, but this year was our's and Sutton (and Heck) flushed it down the toilet. [Reply]

Dolphin fans probably said the same thing in 1984. Chiefs have serious flaws with the OL and defense. We will see if they can fix it. Not sure they can get it done before they start paying big money for Mahomes, which then makes it harder to build the rest of the team. [Reply]

Compare that to what our defensive line did. I know we were able to get pressure and sacks all year, running the same defense, but it was very clear from the beginning of the game that we would not be able to get any pressure on Brady playing the way we did in the regular season.
But Sutton didn't make a single adjustment.

Our offensive line is average at best. Mahomes put lipstick on that pig all year. They're not very good at opening running lanes and we're dog shit on 3rd and shorts.
Defensively we need 2 new safeties and 2 new MLBs. Teams could run up the middle on us every single play of the game and beat us. Christ, the Patriots had the ball for over 43 minutes in that game. That's just amazingly bad. We're lucky Brady made a couple turnovers or we would've been blown the fuck out.
Starting the game with a TD drive that took the majority of the first quarter is amazing. So much energy and noise at the start of the game in the biggest game in that stadium's existence and the defense got absolutely anal raped. I hope we can everyone on that side of the ball and start completely over. Fuck all of em. [Reply]

Yep, it was unbelievable he wasn't fired after last season. Then shockingly he blew this season by being terrible. I love Reid, but come on man this is on you. [Reply]

Yeah, sure. The Chiefs are a much better organization than the Packers, and won't do to Mahomes what the Packers did to Aaron Rodgers.
Seriously, what's more likely, the Chiefs making winning decisions where coaching and player acquisition are concerned, or Mahomes never getting to a Super Bowl with the Chiefs?
I can point to 49 years of history that says Mahomes and his talent will be wasted.
Right now, I feel like we won't even get the one Super Bowl that the Packers managed for Rodgers.

Nothig like confusing your own players and making it easier for the opposing offense.
So true. If I'm an offensive coordinator I run it up the middle 70% of the time and when I have to pass I just hit the flats or short outs/slants all day. This defense is almost always backed off with their "bend don't break philosophy". God I hated watching this D all year. Watching Brady throw it to his RB 5000 plays in a row for huge success was maddening. Make a fuckin adjustment ya know? [Reply]
Yep. We know it. For all of his strengths, Andy Reid kept that POS (as far as coaching ability) on the staff well past his expiration date. One year of perhaps the GOAT career down the shitter because of Reid's blind spots. [Reply]

Actually, they are a significantly better organization than the Packers.
