You need to be up in the WRs faces and not give them an easy completion to the sideline.
That was literally all Texas could do on that play. Anything else and the game is probably over. Dumb defense there.
Yep they left too much time. Texas wins on a pussy field goal. [Reply]

Coaches get scared to lose the game. And play not to lose. Commom problem even though sheer stupidity [Reply]

That was more poor awareness than it was playing not to lose. There was no chance of getting beat deep. No way does Texas have the balls to throw it down the field there.

Really stupid.
Don't disagree in general but no blitzes on the entire drive. Prevent defense the whole way. If you are a huge underdog you might as well sell out and take risks just like we did on the two point conversion. [Reply]

Agreed. I would’ve taken some chances for sure, but I get why they didn’t.
That last pass made zero sense there. There’s no risk at all in being aggressive. Texas is even considering looking down field on that one. Our defense really needs to recognize the time remaining and timeout situation.
Literally any completion in bounds short of the first down ends the game. Protect the boundary and don’t give them an easy one.
Elingher probably would’ve thrown it away if it was contested, but you never know. Hell, you might even get a pick. [Reply]
