We all have varying opinions about the impact of this, the numbers, etc. We will all never agree with each other. But we can all keep it civil.

Thanks!

I'm in Australia and the Murdoch press over here is going do-lally over a couple hundred infections per day in one of our most populous states because the state is governed by a "left wing" government. Obviously if it were a right wing government their tune would be different. There are "rural" states in your country who would love to have those figures right now, but then that's the difference between having competent government compared to what you have over there, which you would never recognize given you have drunk the Trump kool-aid.

Compare the numbers from your country to places with actual population density like Korea and Japan: you're in a world of hurt basically because of people like you, who refuse to wear masks and follow, propagate and support the absolute tosh dished up by the Republicans. That's an absolute, non-political fact.
Wrong thread. We are not allowed to talk about the extremely obvious reason why we are doing so poorly with the pandemic in this thread.

With Texas continuing to break records for new coronavirus deaths and hospitalizations this week, Gov. Greg Abbott reiterated Friday afternoon that things will continue to get worse. And if people keep flouting his new statewide mask mandate, he said, the next step could be another economic lockdown.

“Things will get worse, and let me explain why,” he told KLBK TV in Lubbock. “The deaths that we’re seeing announced today and yesterday — which are now over 100 — those are people who likely contracted COVID-19 in late May.

“The worst is yet to come as we work our way through that massive increase in people testing positive.”

Spain's large-scale study on the coronavirus indicates just 5% of its population has developed antibodies, strengthening evidence that so-called herd immunity to Covid-19 is "unachievable," the medical journal the Lancet reported https://t.co/KRHYPTMcVq

Where's that idiot Texan who kept bragging about how Texas was opening and states on the east coast were still shut down now? Hiding like the little bitch that he is I bet.

Here's the updated chart on new AZ COVID cases over the last 3 months (with today's data). Fairly stable but deaths shot up a tad: LINK

Cases: The 7-day avg case chart has somewhat leveled due to PCR testing limits. The 7-day death avg has hit a new all time high. Likely: 150K cases by July 19, 3,000 deaths by July 28 (or sooner).

Testing: PCR Testing dropped roughly 1.2K tests since yesterday.

Spread: Overall PCR positive test percentage went up from 14% to 14.1% (based on 683K tests, up from a 6.6% low) and the average for this week dropped from 21% to 20% (based on 23,914 tests, down from 21% last week).

Hospital Utilization: COVID Hospitalizations are up 1.5% (all time high). ICU beds for COVID patients went up 2.6% (Overall ICU bed usage went up from 89% to 90%). Ventilators in use for COVID went up nearly 1%. Intubations for Respiratory Distress stayed in triple digits (108).

Yep. If there was only something that could be done to drop that...
