We all have varying opinions about the impact of this, the numbers, etc. We will all never agree with each other. But we can all keep it civil.

Thanks!

I get a quick text from a couple local doctors every couple of days with little updates on cases and what they think is best. They are both in the same hospital so unfortunately I cant compare it to any others around here.
It seems that regardless of how it is being handled now they really did have a plan in place for buying time for the need of hospital beds. Spread the need out, the assumption was that more than a minority would need them.
When they thought we were past that tipping point at least down here they started to open things up hoping to stay ahead of it and get the economy back on track.
It failed pretty bad down here.
The majority of our ICU s are maxed out.

Are hospitalizations trending younger due to the number of younger people testing positive?

Yes very much so. However deaths are lower. It just seems like a drudge thru it disease. Its definitely taking its toll on those with other issues.

With the younger patients are you seeing shorter inpatient times? That's the word I keep hearing from Phoenix is they are getting admitted but being sent home shortly after.

WHO: Eliminating Covid-19 Will be ‘Very Unlikely’

•The World Health Organization’s executive director of its health emergencies unit said eradicating Covid-19 would be “very unlikely.” “In our situation, it is very unlikely that we can eradicate or eliminate the virus,” Dr. Mike Ryan said at a Friday media briefing, adding that temporarily containing the outbreak in specific places, such as island states, cannot prevent the risk of importing the virus again.

Sounds like Texas hospitals are in a much worse situation than they have divulged:

BREAKING: After refusing to release critical hospitalization data for months, @GovRonDeSantis finally caves to public pressure & reports nearly 7,000 patients CURRENTLY hospitalized w/COVID-19 in Florida. A Friday night news dump if I’ve ever seen it. https://t.co/UeanfmAAo3

The hot spots in CA, TX and FLA have to watch the hospital issue but everywhere else we are seeing cases up but not the hospitalizations. Hopefully that's how we roll.

Thanks for the info. That's what I have been hearing. I guess overall that's a good thing. You get admitted but sent home rather quickly...and alive.
