I agree it was a dumb comment and there is nothing in April of 2020 to be done.
But as a country we could absolutely do a better job of preparing for low probability but high impact events. We could have had more medical stuff stuff stockpiled. We could have spent more on researching coronoviruses. Disease specialist expected something like covid 19 was just a matter of time.
And we need to not just prepare for the last war. The next big crisis probably won’t be a pandemic. [Reply]

During the Great Depression no more than 20,000 people committed suicide in any year in a society without any safety net. The numbers aren't even close to comparable. [Reply]

You guys can continue to mock this post, but I for one agree with this guy. At least someone has the guts around here to tell the truth to all you losers. Keep pulling the wool over your eyes, sheep. Fauci was put in office by famously liberal dictator Ronald Reagan just for this moment. All part of Reagan's plan to ruin football and destroy our country from the inside. Adjusted for the increase in population, you would be looking at almost 60,000 people committing suicide. That doesn’t account for the difference in the makeup of people from 1932 to present day. People in 1932 were tougher and generally able to deal with hardship better than today’s population. [Reply]
