We don't really have one of these yet, so figured we could use this as a place to discuss potential free agent acquisitions and what we would like to look for them to bring in.
If any of you guys are interested, heres a good place to do some research.

The answer seems pretty simple to me.

The Chiefs are taking a $1.5M gamble on Berry this season. A price that's easily worth the risk. [Reply]
There's a ton of good safeties in the draft. They still need a FA veteran CB. They can't go into the season with nothing but draft picks back there.
What corner are you getting for a decent deal? Those guys are going to be severely overpaid. The mid tier safeties will be cheap to pair with whichever big fish they grab (probably Landon).
They have Fuller and Ward who they like a lot at CB. They might sign a vet CB but I highly doubt it will be with the intent of them starting over whoever they draft at the position. [Reply]
And that’s why I don’t really ever get pissed at big contracts. I just want my team to try. In all sports, spend your fucking money and make an effort to win. At least it’s fun that way.
And the thing with the NFL is that the cap is SO much more flexible than in the NHL or NBA. There are a lot more creative work arounds you can pull off in this system whereas if you sign a bad contract in the NBA/NHL, pack it up. It’s over. [Reply]

I still think that, if they flip Ford, they trade for a corner on a rookie contract. [Reply]
I’d love nothing more than to keep Berry and see him produce at a high level for a full season, but I can’t even fathom trusting that to happen. I have zero faith in him to stay healthy. [Reply]

I agree. Not comfortable counting on Berry for anything next season. [Reply]
Thomas and Berry would be incredible.... 2 years ago. I feel like your playing with fire if they're your starting safeties. It's possible you go into the playoffs starting two backups. Is that really what we want again? [Reply]
