That ability to escape the pocket, extend plays, plant that...run? pass?...seed, is where things are heading. No backer ever has to worry about Eli, Rivers, Brady, Dalton, running the football. That can't be said about those mentioned above.
Lamar Jackson is what we see at Arizona(faster than Jackson), Oklahoma, Ohio State, and all over college/HS football nowadays, that mobile QB, a guy who can scoot 30 yards, extend plays.
The first black QB's were Willie Thrower, Marlon "Magician" Briscoe, James Harris, "Jefferson Street" Joe Gillum. (can't really count Fritz Pollard) but none of them made any impact.
It started with Doug Williams, Warren Moon and Randall Cunningham, they proved that yes blacks can play NFL QB.
Today there are more black starting QB's than ever before.

Based on what Andy and his college coach have said not only has he picked up the pro game and Chiefs system as fast as they can teach but apparently the kid has a photographic memory. Both Reid and his college coach have said they show him a play once and that's it - he remembers it. He see's a defense once - that's it - he remembers it.
He's not only learning the pro game amazingly fast but based on his performance and NEVER having a terrible game he might also be the FASTEST to become the best.

I thought Mahomes was Mulatto (but who cares) . I find it still weird that in 2020 people are still being categorized by race in sports ,the first (insert race) to do this or that , that might d of shit doesn’t help anything . More and more people are in interracial relationships, and those couples are having kids. I imagine it won’t be very long until the majority of starting NFL QBs are considered either non-white or mixed race.
Are we at that point going to have a fanfare every time one of those guys wins a Super Bowl? [Reply]
