Considering NBA teams would look to Self first for input on Newman, I doubt he would give glowing recommendations for a guy that makes a promise and then blots.
Newman isn't going anywhere. He and his dad promised Self he'd play at least one year at KU. Self made it known he wouldn't have taken him in if he bolted after the year he had to sit.
