Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy! [Reply]
We don't owe him shit. If people want to praise him for helping the team be "respectable," they can, but I never will. KC could have gotten to respectable with a large number of less expensive prospects. Maybe there is a win or two less per season on average, but it wouldn't have affected the upside at all if a cheaper journeyman game manager had taken snaps the past four seasons instead of Alex Smith.

This. Take that fuzzy, fucktarded, sentimental bullshit and cram it where the sand scratches your vag.
"Gee Alex, thanks for helping my team not be a complete dumpster-fire; there just aren't enough millions in your bank account to ever thank you enough"!
Idiots.

Agreed. Smith's putrid name has no business in a thread dedicated to a potential world-beater. [Reply]

I too was hoping that Smith was willing/able to take his game up more. Whether it was the horrors of early SF, or the recent concussion scare.. maybe both.. seems irrelevant now. It just had not happened.
Where a big disagreement sits now.. I am sure this team around him was flawed enough to need a top 5 quarterback to push them to the Lombardi. There are maybe a handful of such QBs in this league.. and whether one thinks Smith is 15th best or 25th best.. also doesn't matter. The large batch of QBs outside of that top 5 are all pretty lumped in together.. mixing and matching plenty of strengths and weaknesses.
So we will indeed move along to Mahomes.. and that is going to feel really good. As much as I like my boo... it was time to get a young QB to develop.
I will have the luxury of a win-win with Mahomes. If he succeeds, then that is great for the Chiefs.. great for me to enjoy. If he sucks ass, there will at least be a silver-lining in this as well. I strongly prefer he succeeds... but still.

His problems now are the same problems he has always had, he just isn't running any more to help cover up what an inadequate passer he is.

Geno, the Chiefs didn't earn the right to SIX prime time games this year, only one of which that can be flexed, only to tank the season by rushing Mahomes, a 21 year old TRUE junior into the starting role.
They earned the right to six Prime Time games because they were 12-4 last year, lost two games by 2 points and one by 7 points. They're a really good football team that's banging on the door of an AFC Championship and a Super Bowl.
You, Clayno and the other minion, New World Odor, are embarrassing yourselves, which of course, is nothing new.
