Nzoner's Game Room>***The Official MMA Thread***

Excited about an upcoming fight? Want to make predictions, or just give people a heads-up that there are some fights on? We can do it here.

(Also a good place to complain, dicuss, and agrue about the outcomes)

I want to see the rematch, but at the same time, he just so thoroughly dominated the fight from beginning to end, that I just can't see Barao winning. There's always the chance of a lucky punch, but Barao's not primarily a striker.

In other news, UFC 180 in Mexico sold out in 8 hours. So, I imagine the crowd will be jacked up for Cain.

Dillashaw is just too quick. Barao doesn't have an answer.

Was looking forward to watching this rematch but I've got tickets for the Cubs vs Cards sat night.

I think Dillashaw beats him again. The first match was just total domination.

Beyond that, though, the rest of that card is just pure ****ing garbage. There's only 1 other ranked fighter fighting that night and its a female who is the #10 contender.

I'm still buying it. Dillashaw looks like a newly-minted star, and I want to see his rise.

Honestly, the first fight was so one sided I don't think Barao should jave been the auto rematch. The card isn't stellar but I'm buying it anyway.

There are some pretty solid fights on Fight Pass in the coming months too. I may think about picking it up.

HUGE BREAKING NEWS!

Renan Barao is out for tomorrow's fight.

No idea what the UFC is gonna do, but UFC 177 is now total garbage.

Dillashaw will fight a random unknown dude tomorrow (Joe Soto)

Damn....that sucks. How did the immediate rematch come about anyways? It's not like Barao lost a nail biter or controversial fight. He was beat in every phase of the fight. Did they not have another contender for Dillashaw?

Barao had a ridiculous win streak going, and was a big favorite. The immediate rematch was understandable.

Barao got really sick during weight cut and the doctors pulled him from the fight.

I disagree. I know Barao, and I understand his streak and his hype....but he was beat soundly. The UFC has gotten to the point where almost anytime a champion is beat, the very next fight is an immediate rematch. It's silly. Dude lost. Whatever the circumstances were( I heard rumors a a bad weight cut and some depression), he was beat. He should have to work his way back into the title picture just like anybody else.

He lost his first professional MMA fight. Keeping that in mind, when he fought Dillashaw, his record was 32-1 with 1 NC.

He went 33 fights without a loss. That can happen in boxing, but in MMA, that is utterly ridiculous. I'm not sure you did appreciate what that meant. I don't care how good Dillashaw looked in beating Barao, if you don't give Barao an immediate rematch, then I'd argue no one should ever get an immediate rematch short of being obviously robbed by the refs.

I disagree. If you go 33 fights without a loss, you deserve an immediate rematch, period.

People probably would feel stronger about this if Barao was an American. Since he's a foreigner who doesn't speak English, people don't relate to him, and don't care as much once he finally lost, but if he were a dude from Iowa, I think everyone in the nation would immediately assume the rematch without question.

That said, I don't think Barao gets the next fight now. Dillashaw called him out at the weigh-in too, basically saying that Barao knows damned well how to cut weight, and his coaches wanted the rematch more than he did, basically calling Barao a coward.

Dana's not gonna risk Barao dropping out on another PPV main event anytime soon, either.
