Nzoner's Game Room>-- Let's talk about counting calories & routine
Simply Red 09:38 AM 03-29-2018
Hi Guys,

I'm up to a 36 waist - thanks to Del Taco and a few others. As well as eating pretty poorly over the last year, or so.

I'm on a strict regimen now and doing a three week diet and then merging it into a new way of life. I have a history of eating well (normally) - but, again; have been quite clumsy over the past year or so.

My plan is to limit myself to 1100 calories a day the first week, then up to 1200 the second week, and then stay on or around 1500 calories as the norm, with one cheat day per week.

After the third week - I'll get back into some sort of exercise, which too will be part of the new 'way of life'

In this thread I'd like to discuss food ideas for assisting myself (& others) with weight loss.

Since Monday I've not gone above 1100 calories/daily - I have eaten oatmeal, oranges, bananas, hard-boiled eggs and in closing, in the evening - I'll eat one of the Chick Fil A Spicy, grilled chicken wraps w/o dressing (350 cals)

I'm open to ideas - but the goal is - finding items that are a little less common and more creative.

Please assist at your leisure - anyone else need assistance or interested in jumping aboard, I welcome it.

Thanks again

When just looking at the scale, it's tough to tell what all is involved in weight loss. It can be fat change, water change, the change in the amount of stuff in your digestive tract, lean tissue loss. However, if someone is water stable, it would take about 1000 calorie a day deficit to lose 3 lbs of fat in 10 days. Losing 10 lbs of fat in 10 days would take a huge deficit - basically eat nothing and exercise like crazy. I would think that's pretty rare.
I’m also gaining muscle so that’s keeping the weight loss #’s lower too.

I’ve been “really” trying for 9 weeks now. Wouldn’t any water loss have happened by now. I should have achieved equilibrium with water by now, correct?

It’s starting to warm up down here in Florida, so now I’m sweating like a pig when walking.

Yeah. All part of the weight loss equation.

Probably? Water weight gain and loss can vary due to other stuff than just dieting. Like strength training and what you eat. Also, the body can retain water in place of fat loss for a while and then release it rather quickly (frequently called a "Whoosh" on dieting sites).

I should amend my previous post too. A very large person would have an easier time losing a pound of fat a day (not saying this is you; just in general) because it's easier to get a large deficit. However, a 220 lb person like SR would have a very difficult time of that. That's why it's generally recommended to stay in the 1-2 lbs loss a week range.

I’m having a lot of success because I’ve got a lot of fat to lose. Not because I’ve found some magic formula. I can lose 10 lbs fast. I can also gain 10 lbs fast. Me and Simply Red might share the same goal of getting in better shape. But, I’m sure our approaches to achieve that goal should be different.

Mr Plow do you think some of your random outbursts towards me might be related to the shit you eat causing your hormones to act up?

I hear you. When the Adderall wears off, look out. Adderall and Klonopin withdraw are some of the hardest things I have ever dealt with.
