Year Two of the Matt Quatraro tenure. Time to take a step up this year. Active in free agency and trades this offseason. A new look pitching rotation and bullpen. Will the young players take the leap up offensively? Bobby Witt extension? New stadium? Will Vinny recover from injury? Salvy taking aim at the Royals record book? Will Cole Ragans turn into the best Royals starting pitcher since Greinke 1.0?

KC made some mechanical adjustments with Ragans and it clicked. Sometimes you pop a Jake Arrieta. It looks like KC may have done that.
And Chapman had a 41% strikeout rate last year. You're going to get somebody with some upside for a piece like that in a deadline deal. It paid off for both teams. The Rangers had a parade. [Reply]
This is super interesting. The story of spring training has been the horrible new jerseys but it turns out the Royals lobbied hard to keep the old full size letters on the back. They weren't given a choice but they lobbied until Nike and MLB caved. Funny seeing fans of all the other teams complimenting the Royals and saying their teams need to do the same thing.
Carlos Hernández (shoulder soreness) did not respond well to his bullpen the other day. He’s scheduled for a cortisone injection & will be shut down from throwing for now. There’s no timetable for his return, Quatraro says, but #Royals are hoping it’s a “short-term shut down.”
If you want to create a RIP you may but the "toothpick" passed away this morning.
UL spent 8 years in KC and was the starting shortstop for the 1980 pennant-winning club. Was a product of the Royals Academy, urged by his brother to try out. RIP https://t.co/JxW0j9xYdE
