Thanks!

Viral respiratory infections tend to drop significantly this time of year. This was expected. The worry is that it come back hard in the fall.

It's pretty funny when my oldest daughter complains about a pizza from a really nice Italian restaurant being greasy. I tell her its because they are using real meat and real cheese, not fake stuff. No matter how many times I tell her that, she still complains. :-)

So that’s good news
I swear we’ve heard this somewhere before in this thread that this is almost certainly what was happening... Thanks for posting O.city, this is good confirmation yet again that the headlines from Saturday were just fear mongering bs.

Many states have more detailed breakdowns and they’re all fairly similar — the last one I saw showed that 83% of the deaths were in the 65+ group and nearly half were in nursing homes. I separately read in USA Today that almost 10% of those who contracted it and died were not necessarily killed by it, but with it (something that was closer to 20% when CO revised their numbers to account for it). Not sure how much of that 10% overlaps with the other groups.

If those numbers held up nationwide it would mean that about 15K deaths have occurred outside of nursing homes and the elderly. Not that those groups aren’t precious, but in nursing homes are already out of the workforce and those over 65 are about 5% of that workforce pre-covid. I think many would like to keep those 5% at highest risk at home and let the rest of the world go back to work.

I always felt Pizza Huts pizza was way too greasy and it always upsets my stomach. All chain pizzas tend to do that to me but Pizza Hut was always by far the worst so I stay away.

It tastes good but nothing crazy and not worth ****ing my stomach up.

There is a clear trend here that should be encouraging.

This is also great news regarding T Cells and cross immunity from other Coronavirus as well as prospects for longer term immunity:

We’ve come a long ways from the darkest days of this virus. Science rocks!

Yeah, but it is something I like to really do with my Grandfather. Don't know how many more games I'll get to enjoy with him is all.

IHME updated again.

I don't see a lot of noticeable changes except it went off the rails in Arizona.

My issue is just that it's really not possible to truly keep that group isolated. Many of them rely on family members to help with chores, shopping, medications, etc., so they'll still have contact with the "infected world." It will also hit hardest among families where grandparents are living with a larger family (typically lower-income and minorities).

But it is what it is at this point. The grand re-opening is happening, so all we can do is try and hope for the best.
