I'll try and update this periodically throughout the season.
17. Charles Harris, DE/OLB, Missouri
The Chiefs currently aren't getting any pressure on the quarterback. That's obviously because Justin Houston is out, but Dee Ford, starting in his place, has done nothing. Tamba Hali doesn't have much longer remaining as a pro, so the Chiefs will need to find a suitable replacement for him.
49. Anthony Walker, ILB, Northwestern
The Chiefs could spend a second-day selection on an inside linebacker, given that Derrick Johnson is nearing retirement. [Reply]

Seriously, the guy sounds like Jay Cutler. And like I said, this is the worst feedback we've gotten since Geno and we all know how that worked out.
I learned a fairly valuable lesson during Genogate - these interviews mean, in many ways, as much as the tape and the drills. At least for quarterbacks.
That's why I've slowly warmed to Webb. Christ alive, man - he KILLS the interviews and film study process. I've read several of them with him now and he can just dissect and disseminate things in real time as well as anyone I've ever seen. The arm's there and the athleticism, while goofy as fuck, seems to be good enough.
Why should I take Kizer over someone like Webb when Webb has the same build, same arm, slighly less athleticism (though maybe not; just stranger looking) and at least outwardly understands/enjoys football a HELL of a lot more than Kizer does.
I don't. Geno's reports were shit like the dude was on his cellphone during an interview or he would tune everyone out. I don't see that with Kizer. Kizer just comes off as being confident.....but he's not an asshole about it. I just think that he's green and he definitely needs to sit for a season. I think Reid would be perfect for him. [Reply]
And as a side note.....I'd be fine if they took Webb at 27 as well. Mahomes is at the top of my list but I'd be ok with Kizer, Webb...or shit....even Watson. [Reply]

Depends on the reports you read.
He's been smart enough not to hang on his cell phone, but many folks have come away thinking that he's disinterested in football. That's extremely alarming.
I'm fine with confident - shit, Webb has it dripping out of him. But my worry is a guy that feels like it's just going to come to him; the talent will win out. Nope, not at this level. You can have the talent but you're still going to have to be single-mindedly focused on the job for most of your playing career.
I've not seen a single thing to suggest that Kizer will approach that. At best you'll get that Big Ben sort of 'just be big and chuck it to pro-bowlers' kind of doofiness that seems to have paid off for him. That's probably not the approach to rely on. [Reply]

I've probably still got some homer glasses on....but I think he'll turn out ok. [Reply]

Do not be surprised if Marlon Humphrey comes off the board much earlier tonight. There are multiple teams I've talked to that like the physical Alabama cornerback in the top 20 picks. I firmly believe the Kansas City Chiefs would like to select a quarterback here, but it's a better value at this stage to wait until Round 2.
Opposite Marcus Peters, the Chiefs need a starting cornerback. Humphrey is good at the line of scrimmage and has the speed to stay in-phase down the field (4.41 40-yard dash). He's raw as a coverage technician but is a great fit in the Kansas City scheme. The Chiefs also have needs at inside linebacker to consider, but with Jarrad Davis and Zach Cunningham gone, there's not a great value.
59 Kansas City Chiefs QB Nathan Peterman, Pitt
91 Kansas City Chiefs LB Blair Brown, Ohio
104 Kansas City Chiefs WR Noah Brown, Ohio State
132 Kansas City Chiefs DL D.J. Jones, Ole Miss
170 Kansas City Chiefs EDGE Fadol Brown, Ole Miss
180 Kansas City Chiefs OC Chase Roullier, Wyoming
216 Kansas City Chiefs S Damarius Travis, Minnesota
218 Kansas City Chiefs CB Brian Allen, Utah
245 Kansas City Chiefs WR Fred Ross, Mississippi State

So that dentist and his 2 assistants spent an hour just waiting on my ass, fixed my tooth and took my whopping $72.00. After paying for his hygienists, materials and overhead, the guy probably got paid as much as a McDonalds worker.
I hope that happens to you. A lot. And I hope the party in question had a pot of coffee and chain smoked a pack of reds before he showed up. [Reply]
