Fun while it lasted GCU. See ya next year. Gonna be hard to root for the Yalies tonight, but maybe they can make some late night noise against San Diego. [Reply]

You are aware of elder abuse, correct? You do know that when someone reaches a certain age along with certain ailments, they might not be using their best judgement and sadly, be prone to being taken advantage of?
There’s seriously something very wrong with you. [Reply]

UConn is gonna be a tough out.
Had a “friend” in NYC who would always lament to me about why UConn isn’t considered a “blue blood”. Lot of discourse and valid arguments to be made. But at the end of the day, fuck UConn. [Reply]

I saw them, Grand Canyon, win their first two NAIA championships in KC back in the day at Kemper. My team, in the 70's, Washburn, just couldn't get past Marymount (Salina) or Kearney St (Neb) to get a bid.
Those NAIA battles between Washburn, Rockhurst, St Benedict's (now Benedictine) were great fun. The old Great Plains Athletic Conference. Then to the CSIC. I spent many a Saturday night watching my favorite players in Whiting Fieldhouse. Harold Brown, Allan Joy, Joe Luebke. Got to play with them and against them at summer camps.
They made it to the quarters a few times but would get knocked out on like a Wednesday afternoon game. I'd have a transistor radio with an earpiece to listen at recess. [Reply]
