I guess we filled up the old one... http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?t=280149

Welcome to 2014! Now get your ass in top physical condition!

No one else started it so here it is!

**From the 2013 Thread**

If you want to get back into lifting, or need a new lifting routine, START HERE:

http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wi...inner_Programs

If you have questions about the SS programs, look here:

http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wiki/FAQ

Keep in mind that you're a novice lifter for a longer period of time than you think you are. Novice lifting can last anywhere from a few months to a year or two, depending on how hard you hit the weights and where you started.

Once you've reached the point where you don't make regular progress on the SS program, you are ready to move on to the intermediate stage, which can last you for a good number of years. Find it HERE:

http://madcow.hostzi.com/5x5_Program/Linear_5x5.htm

If you're a very advanced lifter (many, many years of CONSISTENT weight training), then there are lot of programs out there, and which one you pick is simply a matter of preference. If you're really that advanced, you should know what works for you and what doesn't by this point.

There are plenty of supplements that are useful if you know what you are looking for and how to use them. Creatine being the most effective.
What? I have protein with every meal and have no problem staying within 2k. It's really not hard at all.

You dont use protein powders or drink protein shakes?

If you dont, you are really just doing things the hard way.

I am forced to go to Planet Fitness now, because of the work/kids schedule. Does anybody know what the best alternative to traditional squats are. They dont have a squat rack. They only have a smith machine, and i hate the damn things. I have been using two 75# dumbells, but they are awkward as shit to hold and i really dont want to risk injury.

Learn to use the Smith machines.

They blow but it's going to be tough to find a proper substitute with dumbells and barbells that max out at 75 and 60 pounds.

If I was "forced" to go to Planet Fitness, I would just quit lifting all together.

Seriously.

Nope. I put 4 lbs of pork shoulder/top sirloin/chicken in a crock pot once every two days. That’s more than enough protein. Make 2 cups of rice every day and some veggies and we are good to go c

Yup, you definitely don't need it if you can plan and do simple meal prep.

I can consistently get 200g protein from food and stay under 2,000 calories. I do usually use 1 shake a day, post workout, but that isn't a must.

You might be able to have the credit card company refuse the payments. It happened to me and the gym they sent me to was (IMO) a piece of shit, so I hit-up AMEX and they pretty much told the new gym to go fuck themselves.

Glory has your answer. If a company refuses to issue a stop payment option on a service you aren't receiving, just call the credit card company to refuse payment. Hopefully they just refund your money on the contract you paid. Was it paid all up front or monthly fees?

Monthly.

You'd figure this kind of shit would open themselves up to class action lawsuits.
