5 weeks left in the season and then playoffs. The release of the video was a deliberate conspiracy to sabatoge the Chiefs season knowing this would be an automatic 6 game exemption. With the underhanded things the Patriots have been caught doing in the past, it would make a person wonder. [Reply]

He was afraid of getting injured. Cam is a known pussy.
And you basically did say that he was involved by bringing up the gambling aspect and then pointing to a video of Cam's not diving for the ball as proof. That, in a nutshell, is you saying you think Cam was involved in fixing that game. [Reply]
He lied about it, THAT is what it all boils down to.
Yeah, he lied. So let's crucify a 23 yeard old fellow who lied in fear of losing his job and his future, for something that would be laughed at just a few years ago.
And since we're at it, let's all believe the video was delivered to TMZ by the tooth fairy on a mission from Santa, who at this time of the year is too busy getting Rudolph in shape. [Reply]

Pussy or not it's the ****ing Super Bowl(supposedly why all these guys play the game) and the video (which is now the be all end all) at least makes for a discussion that it's possible.
Hell did you listen to McGinist and the others on that video about that play? [Reply]

Cam Newton rigged the Super Bowl against himself! Holy smokes, the conspiracies run deeper than any of us ever imagined.
Maybe Kareem Hunt conspired to assault 3 people this offseason in order to get himself released from a team and banned from the league indefinitely?
In all seriousness though, Kareem was causing trouble the entire offseason, including getting violent with a woman, and he lied to ownership and the whole organization about it.
Doesn't matter who you are, you go and cause that kind of trouble for your employer's owner, CEO, whoever - and then lie about it all, putting the guy's pouch in a vice and when it all blows up he's twisting in the wind and the organization has a massive black eye... you're toast. It doesn't matter what business you are in. [Reply]
It's sorta funny because one week, the Patriots are getting all of the calls, then the Squealers, maybe the Rams another week and now the Sparklers.
No conspiracy, just inept zebras that miss things. Like the play clock at zero. People do blink. It's been proven that human memory and experience is very unreliable. Was the referee looking at the ball and the lineman?
The plays that bother me the most are the ones where the zebras don't err on the side of caution and let the automatic replay take care of it which forces a team to use a review. [Reply]

I was WITH you till the end, but there is no such thing as Santa.
There is a Tooth Fairy though. [Reply]

It happens all the time with celebrities and high profile people. :-) [Reply]

Beating people and lying is okay, football more important!
So, regarding Cam not going for the ball on the fumble, who knows why really? Did he have PTSD from all the hits and abuse he took during the game? I dunno.

Personally I like scoresandodds or vegasinsider.
Now,if it's not too much work for you(I agree it's much easier sitting behind a keyboard and telling someone their delusional and full of shit) write down the spreads/lines of the games and the projected totals. Then watch the games unfold, listen to some of the commentators and the now former referees who are there to explain to us what they saw, watch highlights, etc and then compare to the Vegas odds.
While it doesn't happen in every game I can guarantee you out of all the games there will be some BS call somewhere that tilts a game toward a Vegas cover and away from the greater percentage of the betting public.
NFL gambling is a multi-billion dollar industry so to think there is no corruption anywhere is laughable.I'd venture to say most of you who think the game is all peaches and cream have never been to a Vegas sports book on an NFL Sunday and watched the money pour in and the emotion of thousands of bettors all with eyes glued to the games. You think the NFL doesn't see that and the excitement it creates for their product?Hell I've been there numerous times and even likened it to a WWE rabid crowd. The emotional roller coaster is unbelievable.
Lastly to answer the question "why do you watch?"
Entertainment my friends.
So let's lay out what needs to happen for this to be true:
Potentially traceable Money is changing hands every weekend between Vegas sportsbooks and a majority if not all NFL refs.
All these refs - many of whom have successful jobs and other lives - are basically money-laundering criminals who have no scruples, and no fear of getting caught or concern for the example they're setting for their kids.
No one's ever been caught in the modern era in the NFL rigging games.
Vegas casinos, which already make money hand over fist - are willing to risk the biggest sports scandal of all time if they ever get caught - in order to make a little more money.
Which teams/games to rig for is somehow communicated to refs before each game - and no one has ever gotten busted for that.
That said, if you tell me that Goodell has a ton of influence on refs getting promoted to "all star" status, or bad refs getting fired (which still no one has been able to answer), then I can certainly see where he could use that as a weapon to steer games towards outcomes he wants w/o ever saying a word out loud.
When Goodell brings in his "all star" refs - do they know basically what he wants? Maybe.
As usual the actual conspiracy is a lot more out in the open and mundane than the fantasy. [Reply]
The premise of this post was around who released the video and why. Does anyone really think that some team was just sitting on the availability of this tape or the opportunity to make it available... just in case the Chiefs did well?
I really do not get the mentality around the league being out "to get" or "target" any specific team. [Reply]

Ok.
So let's lay out what needs to happen to possibly convince you:
Take on a little project of examining Vegas lines and totals etc. as suggested above.
Read a book once in awhile, instead of playing on the computer,my suggestion would be Interference:How Organized Crime Influences Professional Football by Dan Moldea for starters.
Watch the video of above author and host Keith Olberman(in this very thread) where even the great Dick Butkus said,"this book is about everyone I know and all true" and that his story was even verified.
Make another list of previous sports betting/fixing scandals and research and see how it was even possible that they could happen.
Take the NFL and media dick out of your mouth long enough to do these things and who knows.
